Always been a fan of boyd. Was finding his feet before the alleged spitting... 3m is a good offer though, especially if we have more coming in (Diame).
Think it will be a mistake to let Boydy go. He's a multi-faceted player who can help us in several areas, is a great crosser, can score goals, and works his socks off. Bruce knows what he brings to the team and I'm surprised he's even thinking of allowing him to go to Burnley on the transfer deadline. We will need him as a sub as the season wears on. Hope you stay Georgie Boy.
I would never put Aluko in front of Boyd. Aluko is absolute Cack. Done alright in the Championship but is clearly out of his depth in the EPL
Can't argue with that, we're losing a player who will hardly play and replacing him with one who will be in and around he starting XI, without really spending anything. It's hard not to like Boyd, he always works hard and he's got some skill, but he's only just god enough to be a back-up player in the Premier League and £3m for a player who cost us £200k is excellent business.
If this is true then it is probably very likely that Boydy just wants to play regularly and is aware that his chances are going to be even more limited than they were last season with the caliber of players we are now bringing in. I like him a lot but if that is the case I think that's much more admirable than sitting on the bench or as has happened recently not even making the squad and just taking the money. Would be sorry to see him go but this is part and parcel of natural progression.
