I know what you mean about the kind start, but another way of looking at it, is that it's a good job we have had an "easy" first few games. If we'd had a couple of big hitters in there, we'd be on zero points, with a couple of confidence-crippling heavy defeats against us. At least LvG hasn't had the baptism of fire Moyes had.

If Moyes had the start LVG had, you'd have had 9 points this time last season.

Moyes was not crucified at all. In fact he was given loads of slack while the press picked on AVB.

I wasn't talking about the press.

I couldn't give a flying **** what the press think.

    Is that what you see?

Care to quote where anyone has suggested he be sacked, as that's that not what I see.

Is it you who regrets not being more of a gloating prick btw... you were a smug, conceited United fan (not surprising after all the years of success) but not a gloater.

    Was I?

As opposed to a sad fat pretend cockney prick with no ****ing life apart from attempting, and failing, to be funny on an opposing football teams forum?

What I find interesting is that something so apparently solid and invulnerable during Ferguson's reign has deflated so dramatically and totally. Does it not remind other posters of how Communism collapsed in the early nineties, with the Berlin Wall being torn down as if it was made of cardboard?

    Maybe.

It reminds me more though of when Matt Busby retired and how the club made an utter pigs ear of that also.

Something about how the squad were all winners and completely ignoring the fact that they were not ageless and had deteriorated while the outgoing manager fiddled as his empire burned and a patsy replacement was installed.

That's what it reminds me of.

To be honest it's more like a back 5 than a back 3 (3-5-2 or 5-3-2) that's the question - looking on, it looks more like 5 at the back - as the wing backs have hardly been supporting the strikers, hence scoring **** all goals.

Must be down to my age, and I don't consider myself old!, but I'm completely relaxed about how the season has started for United. Nothing has surprised me and I don't doubt that we'll be up challenging again within a couple of years. My 8 year old lad views it differently and is upset at how ****e we are at the minute!

What we need is Cafu on one side and Maldini on the other. We should put a cheeky bid in to get them out of retirement! On a more serious note, that's a fair point, except they're not there defending either so it's currently a 3-3-2. Then if you consider we will have one of Fletcher, Cleverly, Fellaini in there, it's actually a 3-2-2. Then you consider Rooney and RVP can't seem to play well together, and we have 3-2 ...which will probably be our next scoreline...if we're lucky.

Don't be daft. We won't score twice <laugh>

I'm going to try and reserve judgment until we've got some of our better players back. Rafael and Shaw are almost tailor-made for the wing-back role. Hopefully Herrera can get our midfield moving better.

The optimistic in me wants to see the positive. New players and key players need to come back and fit in.

Defence: we have Rojos not playing yet, blind will be coming in, shaw is injured and will come in and smalling and rafael will come come back from injury.

Midfield: Herrera injured, carrick to come back and blind could come in as defensive midfielder. Di Maria will settle into the team.

So while Moyes benefitted from the fergie effect at the beginning, the performances gradually got worse as this started wearing off and players started playing s**t. This season I am hoping will be the opposite, really s**t at the beginning but getting better as the season progresses. <ok>

Very strange post and tag line considering where you are from and who you support, did someone in a United shirt once push you out of a bus queue or something
