I thought that the big premiership are supposed to be interested in Wickham, If this were true i'm sure that by now they would of matched Sunderlands offer.
So perhaps he is not as highly sort after as we thought?

Compared to Ipswich he just made the move to a big club chum and in a big league. One which Ipswich wont be joining for some time. The 9m will allow Jewell (good manager btw) to rebuild and maybe go for the play offs. The Championship is going to be extremely competitive next year and this money will be needed if you are not to be involved in the wrong half of the league again.

Wickham would have been swallowed up at Liverpool and he isnt Man Utd or Chelsea class just yet, so SAFC are a good stepping stone upwards for the lad.

Wish him well as we have with jordan Henderson. Players move. Thats football. Get over it.

I think you have just described your own situation in the Premier League!

Just to confirm mate we finished 10th (top half) I'll forgive you though. I mean why would a Ipswich fan be looking at the Premiership table?

My point was that none of the big clubs that we believed had an interest came forward with a concrete offer, don't get all defensive.
I believe its a very good deal for Ipswich and in a few years you'll hopefully have an England International (unless he moves to a big club by then):emoticon-0105-wink:

Its surprised me that he has moved to Sunderland, but then no other Premiership club came in for him with an actual offer... This does not mean that he went for the money alone... He has been "made big" by reports in the past season or so, and probably feels that he can make it within the Premiership... We all know that he is a hungry boy and just wants to play football all the time... This certainly would not happen at either Man Utd or Chelsea, and most probably not at Liverpool (All squad rotations)... So only time will tell if the move was the right one or not... I would like to wish him well with his new club
