The chron is reporting this morning that Lee Clark at Birmingham is prepared to take our maverick play maker away on loan to the championship ( what a Shame do much more talent than that league) however it remains to be seen if hatem will indeed come good on his word and fight for his place.

Now I've been thinking this is a really really risky move on pardews part ( a man whose stubbornness seems to have ruled out any second chance even if hatem does ammend his ways)

Surely in his position, where we are struggling for goals and his position is hardly in firm ground, it's dosnt strike me as particularly wise to loan out a fan favorite and risk all of the terrace coming down on him if he does not perform in the next two games? We all know if we have a similar display to villa his name will be chanted and pardews situation will become even more untenable

Just trying to get shot of him. Any club that'll take him, though surprised it's a championship one. Need to get him gone from the club, situation is poisonous.

No doubt Lee Clark would like him down there.

One big obstacle as I see it and that's HBA himself.

As someone who believes in his own mind that he's Ballon D'Or material, can anyone seriously believe he would go there.

If he does agree to go, it proves Pardew was right all along.

I think it's becoming increasingly clear Ashley won't sack him under any circumstance as he's way to good of a personal **** shield for him. It looks like he has free reign over the team now to feed his ego as much as he wants

The thing is the new signings him a bit of time but I personally think we're one bad game away from a Cardiff situation again. And I really don't think it's wise on his part to deliberately ignore perhaps 70 percent of fans who want him back to feed his own ego

A loan move the championship makes no sense at all if we can't buy until we sell.

Alan, you either need to sell the lad, or bury the hatchet and play him. Simples.

I'd like him gone but this won't happen. Brum may fancy it, Newcastle may sanction it, Fatem won't be interested.

Disagree Obi. Its HBA who needs to bury the hatchet, and that will allow Pards to play him. Quite simple, Pardew has made the clubs position clear, its up to HBA. He did play in the reserves so maybe they've moved on and its now just about proving himself in the reserves over 4 or 5 games which is fair enough. Maybe they haven't and the club are just being professional and allowing him to maintain fitness.

Its not as simple as sell him or play him. We can't sell because nobody wants him, which tells its own story. You can't possibly play him until he falls in line with club rules. Its not clear how that situ has developed, he may well have done the decent thing and apologised for all we know.

The club are handling this brilliantly for me. I wouldn't want any player taking the piss out of the club, its not on. So he can rot for all I care if he hasn't improved his situ by being a man and professional.

He's been given a squad number so surely that was with the intention of giving him a chance if he can prove himself !

No mistake this is HBA's doing. He has not acted in a professional manner and wound himself up in this situation. If I was pardew I would put him on the bench today tho. If we desperately need a goal for a draw/win I would put him on and say...go on then, here's your chance. Not saying he needs to score a hatrick of worldies or anything just go out there and look like he is making a difference to the quality of our play. Its not like we are playing Chelsea, this is Crystal Palace. If he cant show his quality then clearly he has lost it.

As for Benny, can't see him accepting a move to Birmingham but wouldn't be upset if he did. In an ideal world he will bury the hatchet with Pardew, conform to club rules and get his head down and prove he is worth a place in the starting eleven and then play for the team and not himself. I hope that can happen but not sure he has it in him.

F*** Pardew, he's just an arrogant average manager. I support Ben Arfa for standing up to him <ok>

Can we have a poll on this thread? Who would we rather keep, Ben Arfa or Pardew. I think it's time for an update on opinion!

Ah ok cool ... I recon it'll be 70-30 in bennys favour .. But after today I think we really really need to solidify at the back ... Janmaat was great going forward terrible defending

<ok> Pretty much the same for all the defenders! It's because they aren't that good and we didn't have anyone sitting in-front protecting today, in favour, quite rightly, of a more attacking formation. In that formation Ben Arfa would have done far more damage than Cabella.

Usually we play more defensively and try and nick the game. In those situations Ben Arfa needs to be covered, but is ultimately useful because Pardew relies on moments of brilliance to win the game. Nobody else in this squad is capable of that.
