They're going to be bitterly disappointed when they fail to find us hoofing and we pass our way around them to a comfortable win. 3-0. Kouyate, Zarate, Noble. Only on page 2 but this is my favourite from KUMB so far.
Ramirez also made runs to the back post, which for some reason no one was doing in the first half. I would say that Ramirez should definitely be starting over Long except that Long looked quite sharp in the second half as well (though I thought he was poor in the first).
Nah, Koeman knows what we need. You don't make a decision on one game, good or bad. Whoever we sign we would have still signed regardless of this result I think.
Could do with a winger. I like Davis and he played well but there were a number of times he was out wide and failed to attack like a proper winger.
Yeah I know that! He was caught out wide a lot though and has played there a few times, so it got me thinking how much damage a winger could have done in that situation. EDIT: Rereading my post it does make it sound like I thought he was a winger, my bad.
Say what you will but i dont see a single post really whinging about somehow having the result stolen. Honest if nothing else Quote from KUMB Re: West Ham United v Southampton: Match Thread Postby Junco Partner on Sat Aug 30, 2014 4:36 pm The crisp passing spell from Southampton prior to the third: Someday, I swear I'm going to see West Ham play that wayâ¦someday, somehow, somewhere..
Koeman on Solent saying: "They just play long-ball. I hate it, I hate long-ball, it is the easiest way to play."
Yeah it's usually the pre-match stuff that comes back to be egg on face. Although everyone's a little guilty in that department.
Fair play to Sam in his post match comments as well ! ( well most of them ) ................ West Ham manager Sam Allardyce: "We weren't good enough. Southampton taught us a lesson, we weren't sharp enough and didn't retain the ball as well as they did, close down as well as they did and gifted them two goals. As much as they were in control and on top of the game we've lost two very stupid goals from set-pieces. "The big problem I had with the corner [for the second goal] was that it was a goal-kick of course. I've had a look at it on the laptop and can the referee see it? Was he blocked and why didn't he make the right decision? Having looked at it from Mike Dean's position he's got it horribly wrong when we don't need it to go against us."
You didn't need the last sentence really pal. You came back in and said he did well, fair enough. I think it's ok you get a little ribbing though, don't you?
Think that is what he meant when he said prematch that West Ham play a style that is not our philosophy.
And what about Pelle's perfectly good goal disallowed for offside? Swings and roundabouts, although the officiating is poor.
I wouldn't normally mind but the fella in question was being a bit of a knob. I don't mind people disagreeing with me (it happens a lot) but at least be constructive.
