I don't know how anyone can find the Valencia back drop attractive, it's like driving around Slough trading estate. When all the commentators can talk about is the bloody old fish market buildings then you know even they're grasping at straws.
Drop it, drop it, drop it, drop it, drop it, drop it, drop it, drop it, drop it, drop it, drop it, drop it, drop it, drop it PLEASE!!
What I never got was why a Valencia street circuit when they have a perfectly good purpose built circuit there
Does the purpose built circuit have all the facilities needed to hold a GP El Bando or would it need upgrading?
well same with what I said with Paul Ricard in France. They both hold F1 Test Track Licence's so It wouldnt take much more improvement. Just spectator improvements. Where as the Valencia street circuit is built from scratch each year
I can certainly appreciate the costs & logistics of building a track from scratch, as I have been on holiday in Melbourne for the last 8/9 years and seeing their circuit being built around Albert Park each year. Sadly I have never been able to stay and watch the race.
Are you on about the ricardo tormo circuit? It's too short. PS. Love that signature. I can imagine Ron Dennis saying it.
Bob - you are unfair on Slough Trading Estate. That lovely sickly smell of liquid destined to become Mars bars.
I hear bernie himself got bored at left 20 laps in... http://formula-one.speedtv.com/article/f1-grand-prix-news-briefs100/
Well it is not as bad as a team principle leaving when he has still got a driver in the race, you much be a gigantic dick to do that.
Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I heard some very bad news regarding Valencia. There will be no race in Barcelona from 2012, and Valencia will continue until 2021. http://www.cadenaser.com/deportes/a...formula-espana/serpro/20110628csrcsrdep_9/Tes http://formula-one.speedtv.com/article/f1-report-valencia-to-be-spains-only-gp-in-2012/
Stupid. Just another example of stupid in F1. Barcelona's been a boring circuit for years and years and finally F1 shapes itself so that we get a great race there. Valencia, even with the new conditions in F1, still presents a dire experience and he drops Barcelona. Stupid. I did read earlier that Valencia wanted to be moved forward a month and thought, how's that going to work with Barcelona? Hugely disappointing.
