Utd wanted Jones, they signed him
Utd wanted Young, they signed him
Utd wanted De Gea, they signed him.

We have Comolli and from all the targets we are supposed to be chasing have we have signed one, and I like amny others would not have put an attacking central midfileder as a main priority.....now what exactly has Comolli been doing since the last transfer window closed?

I hate the way we haggle over a few million on players which drags out the process, UTD want a player they sign him and move to the next target...

until LFC fix or change this transfer mentality we will never match them...

Its a bit premature to be making comments like this as it isn't July yet.Liverpool won't be held to ransom over players. There is nothing wrong whatsoever with bargaining.Liverpool will get the right players for the right price, when the next player comes, there could be 4-5 all at once.Wait and see.Nobody has an idea who the targets actually are. Most of it is mere speculation.

United have spent 60 odd million on 3 players all unproven at the top level, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

They still haven't been able to sign that modric/sneijder type player that would actually improve their team not just pack out their squad.

I don't think we would be getting the spanish keeper, does he want to sit on the bench, he aint gonna depose Reina
We stuck in a annoying bid for Jones, I don't think he was ever expected to sign for us when is was general knowledge he wanted ot go to United.
Young chose United because thats where he wanted to go, Champions and in the CL, decision makes sense from career stand point.

We signed Suarez Henderson and Carroll that is three targets, and Suarez is better than any of the above United signings and he came to Liverpool without CL football. Maybe you are a little depressed today but you are painting a pretty glum picture, I can't see it, sorry :)

Have to say they have been working on deals quickly but I don't see them making any major signings from now. Remember they need to fill positions where people have retired.

Liverpool are putting alot more depth into their scouting network to see the best options. And it is too early to judge transfers because we aren't even in July yet. (European transfer window opening day)

£60 odd million...thats a bit of an over exggsateration isn't it.But hey, what have facts got to do with it.We didn't worry too much when you spent £70mill on 2 players just the same as you didn't worry when we spent £6mill on 1 so your points is null and void.
As for the O.P. Like you collegues have said, the supporters need to be patient and a lot of all these "Liverpool are looking at signing X,Y,Z!!" stories are just to sell papers etc.i can assure you,Kenny is not sitting in his office twiddling his thumbs.

I don't know. Tell us what exactly he's been doing. I take it you've been privy to negotiations to be judging that it's all over before the European market has even opened?

Until fans change their mentality we'll keep getting silly threads like this.

Until Man United sign that much needed central midfielder, then I'm not worried in the slightest. It seems Fergie has done a Mark Hughes by signing a player he doesn't particularly need but did it out of spite to prevent other clubs from having him when he signed Ashley Young. He did the same thing when he signed Carrick. In all honesty it definitely was a definite act of stupidity on Fergusons part.Don't expect Kenny to do anything like that,He signs re-inforcements for positions only.He never makes un-necessary/pointless signings. All Kennys signings must offer something different.Carrick never offered anything different to what United already had,If United wanted a one-paced midfielder that passes the ball sideways and backways they could have got Jimmy Bullard for £3 million instead of wasting £19 million on Carrick.Ashley Young doesn't offer them anything different to what they've already got either. There was a report a while back that Ferguson was willing to sign Shawcross. They in fact have first refusal on him too.Fergie it seems was willing to pay Stoke £18 million more for him than he sold him to Stoke for.He sold him to Stoke for £2 million and was willing to pay £20 million to re-sign him.

Man Utd have done well in the market so far but still need that CM. I'll judge us when the window is closed.

You would be a fool not to be at all worried by the premier league champions and champions league finalists.

Liverpool are not an attractive enough Club to sign the Players who can take you on to become competitive at the top end of the Premier League UNLESS you pay big bucks.

Not going to challenge for the title
    +
    Not in the Champions League
    =
Not a chance in hell of signing the best Players.

    Unless.....£££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

Sorry to keep banging on about it fellas, but that's just the way it is, and the sooner you get your heads around the size of the task ahead of you, the less frustrated you will be.

It will take £100M's and Years to catch up with Chelski, Citeh and Yernited's Squads.

Thanks for your input, much appreciated, really.

    --

Damien Commoli promised a busy summer, he even admitted working on signings for the summer back in January, with a Director of Football I guarantee he must be doing something right now. For all we know, most deals could be agreed but are under wraps, the way FSG like it.

Premier league champions they won the title with the lowest points tally since 1990,and are the first team to win the title with 5 away wins since Liverpool in 1977.They won the league because the standard has dropped significantly since 2009.Their embarrassing humiliation by Barcelona proved how poor United actually are. There was no outstanding team in the premiership in 2010/2011.No outstanding player either and the proof of this is the fact that Scott Parker who played for relegated West Ham won the Football writers and Gareth Bale, who performed for a handful of games won the PFA player of the year.No player or club stood out.
The premiership up until 2009 was the best league in Europe,It no longer is.La Liga has definitely taken over as the best league.

Hard to disagree but thats why the Premier League's top clubs are looking to strengthen now. They know the quality has dropped.

Big players who have left the league since 2009 -
    Ballack
    Deco
    Ronaldo
    Alonso
    Mascherano

I could go on for ages, you get the point.

Barcelona can humiliate anyone, look at their 1st game against Real Madrid. I agree that they won the league because the standard dropped but that doesn't make them 'poor'. Even if that was the case we should still be wary of them because they finished above both of us.
