Made me laugh the other day when Pat Nevin was doing an appraisal of where ManU are going wrong. He then said they were 3 to 4 World Class players short and that's how they solve their problem. Does anyone spot the irony there..?
Sounds like Taider is off already. Twitter suggesting he hasn't adjusted to the training and fitness regime. Won't affect Osvaldo deal though.
A few reports suggesting that our academy graduate, and former striker David McGoldrick may be going to Leicester. For £8m. Jesus.
It's not a trick question, but OK, I'll answer it myself. The irony is, is that any club outside the top4/6 is possibly 3 or 4 world class players short. Why the special case..? Saints are 3 or 4 world class players short, for pete's sake..! Wouldn't it be great if we weren't. WE'd make last season's team look like mere cannonfodder. [I said cannonfodder, CF]
Always remember the season before he broke into the team. Well, break is hardly the right word, as we were desperate, but that previous season he scored 44 goals in the development squad. Not sure, but I think they only played about 20 odd games. Some of us thought he was going to be hot. It came as a bit of a disappointment, but then he didn't have fantastic players around him either.
Nor do I and nor should they be. To sum up, Much as I like Pat Nevin's usual comments, I fing his observations/solutions on ManU to be overly simplistic. Any club, not at the top of the PL could be said to be short of quality. Personally, I thought that was the job of the manager, ie; to take said less than fantastic players and mould them into a fantastic team, with class beating tactics and know-how. Now it's your turn Mr Koeman.
