Did you go to Sunderland and watch him there. Had a very impressive game, still a working progress. I do agree we still need an experienced defensive midfield player

    Back to Stambouli ...
"Montpellier President Louis Nicollin has told Eurosport that Swansea and Fiorentina have yet to make offers for defensive midfielder Benjamin Stambouli.

He had the following to say:

    “They better hurry up.”

Get French Football News can however confirm that Montpellier have received offers from both Swansea and Fiorentina for Benjamin Stambouli and that Nicollin is up to his old tricks again in order to get a better overall deal."

Better have a word with his manager!

    Trunds

Didn't go to Sunderland - went on reports and the number of points they won without him compared to with him.

Mate he is till a work in progress. But I have to say against Sunderland away and it was his first start he was superb. Passed well and certainly didnt mind a tackle. He certainly is the answer to our defensive midfield issue at the moment, but I firmly believe he will one day soon.

Spurs might have thrown their hat in the ring for him now. If true doubt very much he will come to us.

Stambouli travelling to London for a medical according to BBC. Spurs have certainly been a thorn in our side since Pochettino took over.

Are you sure that Swansea really wanted this guy? Look at http://www.whoscored.com/Players/83303/Show/Benjamin-Stambouli .

Weaknesses, Concentration! "Clears the ball out of defence often"? Is that a polite term for hoofball? Height 180cm, which is not very tall these days. I know, I have seen the videos of the saving tackles, but for every saving tackle I will show you a defensive error that got them into that position in the first place. And anyway, a DM is not about saving tackles, it is about 90mins + time added on of concentration and constructive reliability.

The reason I ask is because when SCFC were in the CHampionship they just kept completely stumm on all transfer business, and that worked. When they got into the Premier League they found that no longer worked - there are too many involved, too much media interest, so they started the game of showing interest in a lot of players and disguising their real targets. That worked. Now they have a new problem. Starting last year. they have a new problem with Liverpool and Everton tracking their targets, and now Tottenham doing the same. If you have clubs determined to take everyone you chase, it seems to me the only strategy is to apparently chase guys you don't that much want and mop up the capacity of your trackers to buy players. Did Swansea ever put in a formal offer for Stambouli? Apparently not. Don't tell me what they said, repeat all the fluff, did they make a formal offer? No.

There is a big positive in doing this. Your trackers will quickly come to the conclusion that is is very difficult to know who you are actually chasing, and get very careful about making offeres just because SCFC are interested.
