Stoke City have reportedly ended their interest in Birmingham City pair Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome after their £16 million double bid was rejected by the Championship side. The recently relegated Blues rate the duo at a combined fee of £19 million, and the Potters are not prepared to match their valuation. In-demand centre-back Dann, a target for Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa, is rated at £12 million, and Birmingham will not drop below that price given the level of interest in the player. They value striker Jerome at around the £7 million mark, and have already rejected a £5 million bid from Bolton for him. Stoke are not willing to up their offer and will now turn to alternative transfer targets as they look to strengthen their squad for the new season. Birmingham do need to sell to balance the books after losing their top-flight status, but believe they can get better deals for both players.
They will not get a better deal for him than the ones we or Bolton offered. But I'm glad we aren't getting him!
