Got an unexpected email from a hot burd tonite... I clicked on her view profile link and arranged a date for next week. Oddly, I can't access my bank accounts any more. Oh, Wilma, ya hot wee bitch ye. I shall indeed enjoy yer naughtiness. #desperate-but-not-****in-stupid Do people actually fall for that ****e?
Must do. Like the Nigerians. They wouldn't still be doing it if they weren't coining it. Some idiots knocking about.
Seems some virus spammer has used an address at the IP I own as the sender of a load of spam of the type: "Your order has been processed, open the attached file to view your order details." Got a stack of replies from people demanding to know what order and some threatening legal action. Just checked: no one has hacked my account and set up any other email address, they are sending these emails and somehow making it look like they came from my domain. What can I do about this if anything? Edit: Just checked domain, nothing changed on there since 2010.

Nothing you can do to stop it. Your domain's MX (mail exchange) record is part of the public DNS system. So anybody, with appropriate software, can send an email using that record to make it look like it came from your domain. However, the actual IP addresses in the spam mail headers won't match (because it came from somewhere else) so is easily recognised as spam by system administrators. So nobody is going to come after you for being a spammer. It is a pain in the arse though.
