The phrase "HUge Coup" seems out of place. If wed signed a proven striker, with PL or European goalscoring pedigree who was being chased by other clubs then maybe. I will get behind the lad for sure, but I cant help but think we have been caught up in the frenzy of a bidding war with the Scousers over hype. Praying he can do the business, and that we have some top notch defensive signings on the way, thinking a top striker may not happen now we have Wickham and Dong.
Lets hear McWhiskeybreath on the Legends weasel out of this one as he said the other night we had no chance of signing this lad for 8m or at all, whom he rated in the 30m bracket. Well done SAFC and a huge endorsement for the manager here as well. Its a huge gamble for the club but one that has good odds of success from what I have seen and heard about the lad. Wonder if he like derby games?
Anyone who has doubts or puts a negative slant on this signing is a complete and utter mindless moron, great signing and great bit of business and there will still be more to come!
put money on it you will be told you miss heard him Cest, he meant that Newcastle would never pay 8 mil for a young kid and we are fools, or words to.....
the club has done well on a 4 year deal its now up to the lad how far he wants to go He can learn his trade with us and if he succeeds that means we are doing well and as long as they keep him on a good contract that can only bear well for the club Don't want to upset people but if he is too successfull we get another £30m plus in the future lol Lets hope he lifts a trophy lol
Really chuffed lets hope him and gyan hit it off and stuff it to the mags in august. I also hope we haven't signed another Anthony Stokes
