We have Larsson, Westwood, Gardener (95%) and Won (95%) in the bag and Vaughan would mean 5 players for 5m.

With Connor Wickham also confirmed as a Sunderland player now on a 4 year deal, for 8m or 9m and bids already in and accepted for the Manchester 3 of 12m, where is our remaining money going to be spent and how much do we have?

I'd say N'Zogbia for 10m and Welbeck for 15m would be excellent business IMO. I think Danny showed enough to suggest he is an EPL player and his understanding with Gyan would have bore fruit had they remained fit and healthy. He would be my marquee striker and I'd be happy with it too. N'Zogbia is maybe not a top 4 player but he would be a key attacking player in our new look team and the difference in tight games between draws, narrow defeats and narrow victories. He is worth 10 if Jordan attracted a 16m price IMO.

51m spent and 30m in for Judas and Jordan.

Net spend of 21m which in today’s market is good business for 11 players.

    Thoughts?

Reckon Welbeck will be brought in on a loan at best. Maybe sign him next year if it goes well. Could easily stay at Man Utd though.

Nzog seems a lost cause to me, and we do need left midfield sorting out still.
O'Shea, Nedum and Hutton I would like to see. Leave Brown out and slash a bit off the 12 million.
Gibson, well who knows whats happening with him, though the arrival of Gardner could cool that interest.

5+8(without add ons) + 8(assuming brown is left out) =21 million out.
16+18=34 million in (accounting for the 6million we spent on Sess)

That gives us 13 million left to get Nedum + Hutton hopefully with say 3 million pocket change.

To play it safe Id say we want to limit our net spend to 12 million, so with 3 million left over that gives us 15 million to spend on a proven striker, and a left midfielder.

My figures are all over the place, but thats -kind- of how Id like to see it pan out.

Well I'm getting a new bathroom suite fitted which is costing me an arm and a leg, so they could throw some my way!

In truth, I'm getting to the stage where I feel our squad is getting a strong feel to it, although I feel that it will take a while before they bed in together. Having said that I would like to see an out and out winger, another forward and if the injuries don't clear up, a central defender.

We got 18m up front and upto 24m based on appearances etc but had to pay Spurs 6m from our buying him the previous season. I think Jordan was 16m up front and 4m add ons.

Means we have 28m to 30m from both sales-----I think? Lol

Bruce did mention a couple of loan could be coming in so let wait on that one too. Be great if we could get Hutton on loan, let him run down his Spurs contract with us and sign him free next year.

4 main areas to look at spending the money on are Another Centre Forward, Centre Half, Left back & Left wing.

CF - Welbeck (£10 million) - Welbeck is not Man U standard and I cannot see him turning into another Rooney or budging Rooney/Hernandez/Berbatov out of the team except for Carling Cup games, luckily for us the press ignore players from our region so there isnt much hype surrounding Welbeck like Sturridge so his price shouldnt be too exstortionate, adding to the fact Macheda fancies his chances this season then lets just buy the kid outright and test Fergie, worst we can do is get him on loan again.

CH - Onouha (Loan) - City asking too much and we know what we are getting with Nedum and he can cover in a few positions across the back four. You may be saying "not another loan" but I fully expect City to let him go on the cheap after next season when they sign another few multi-million pound players. Plus this frees up a bit more cash for the next 2 positions.

LB - Izagurre/Figueroa (£6 million) - Liverpool are after one & if they get Enrique then so will the scum, also a good one is hard to find. These guys are within our price range and I doubt we will get better than that unless we pay above £12 million and that wont happen.

LW - Matty Etherington (£6/7 million) - Sick of hearing about N'Zogbia and I think Villa is his destination so how about Etherington from Stoke. Trouble is he seems happy there and they have Europa League next season but its another option.

Obviously there is the Steve Bruce factor to take into account so anything is possible, I bet none of us expected Whickham to be signing so soon or even at all.

Hate to harp on about the loans but the ones being talked about will expect to play.
While I understand how they can benefit a club they can also detract, as it stops one of our own players getting the experience.
If there's a need for the loan player, quite frankly we are in a good enough state to actually go out and fill the position.

They also put us in pole position to sign the player at the end of the loan should it work out. It can give the player a taste of the club, and act as a "settling in" period for them. Its a pretty good option, just not when you construct the backbone of a team with loans...Just like last year.

On an unrelated note, should we fail with N'Zogbia, Id love us to try bag Vicente on a free to fill in left wing, him and Larsson on the wings supplying the crosses to Wickham/Gyan, with Sess behind them and Catts anchoring would be a great little combo.
