Well for LFC there are two clear favorites. Dalglish and gerrard. Its that simple

For utd I would still think best/ charlotn should be their greatest despite prob every other position being current era and with players like ronaldo pushing both

I find if funny hwo the best paid player for utd ever and now 10 year vet is nowhere near any all time xi and prob never would enter anyones head.

I probably shouldn't have included Utd - probably should have gone all time prem 11 vs all time pre prem 11 of LFC.

FeCk me can you imagine Souness vs Suarez! :)

No you would be ignoring so many great legends by limiting it to prem players only. Trouble is you could probably pick 3 or 4 teams.

No i meant both teams being LFC, MITO has picked a predominantly, if not all prem 11 so you could have his 11 against say
    Clemence
    Nicol Yeats Hansen Kennedy
    Callahan Wark Souness Highway/Sheedy
    Rush Dalglish

Don't think you can judge a player based on a few DVDs. Obviously I know about the greats but I couldn't tell you if Molby was better than Alonso as I've never seen him over a whole season.

Obviously it's not the best as it misses greats but it's the best I've seen which is all I can really go on.

I wish we had gotten Torres and Suarez together, it was so close to happening :( as I think we would have gone for Suarez with or without selling Torres, it was Carroll in my world we would not have got :)

Part of me doesn't like watching the highlights of the 70s-80s sides on LFCTV because I doubt I'll ever see a Liverpool side as good... Hard for a younger (21) fan to imagine such a strong side.

Agreed. Got a cold shiver down my spine just typing it. And I had to leave out Best!!

Although on second thought I might go with:

    ------Schmeichel
    Neville-Stam-Vidic-Irwin
    Charlton-Keane-Scholes
    -Ronaldo-------Best
    ----------Law

Subs: VDS, Evra, Rio, Robson, Giggs, Cantona, Rooney

Just to see Ronaldo and Best ****ing teams up like there's no tomorrow!

Molby and alonso were very similar players for the most part. Neither terrifically mobile but fantastic passers of the ball. I think I would have to go for big Jan as he did it for a number of seasons. He could play around the centre circle and absolutely control a game.as I say he didn't move around a lot but scored a number of crucial goals so for me he just has the edge. Tough choice though. Not in my all time Liverpool XI though.

My playing style is very similar to that of Molby's minus the technical genius and the amazing array of passes :)

well if you need a time machine you are out of luck my old mucker....

Molby... alonso... different styles IMO. For me I'd say alonso prob missed too much football due to thuggish fat frank breaking his ankle on mourinho's orders....

Well I think such a 4-3-3 would be interesting... though you'd go for keane not robson then?

I think souness would win myself.

In all the time keane was there only really vieira was a direct square up. I think you can call it hard but in the 80s when even robson was abotu and of coruse back to the 60s etc hard really was hard. Souness would deck keane all day long.... no question
