on tonights showing, and even though bruce played the wrong team, we really need to sign a player who can link up the midfield to attack, a number 10, a koren type player, whatever you want to call it... we NEED it. Snodgrass might have been the player, but he's out for the season. Bruce has said we want a midfielder but admitted being interested in cleverley and diame... neither of them are the answer. we need a van ginkel or a holtby type player.
I think we are looking at the wrong type of midfielder. Would love us to sign a defensive midfielder who adds protection to the back line. The amount of times we get caught and the opposition have midfielders running at our defence. None of our current midfielders have the discipline to play that role
Aluko and Ince are both number 10's. We need to add a bit of power and steel to the midfield, that's where Diame comes in.

SB played a team capable of winning the game and at half time all was going to plan. However, we started the 2nd half really poorly and once Sagbo was sent off I couldn't see us getting a third goal. Fair play to Lokeren though - they not only used every time wasting trick in the book - but they kept possession well and knew how to use the extra man advantage (more than Stoke did on Sunday IMO).

Other than the Egyptian link I don't see it. We have Aluko, Ince and Brady. Much more likely to bee Van-Ginkel.
