Back from tonights game and I've stayed away from posting because to be honest, some of the comments on here are f*cking stupid from certain posters. Very sad to be out of it tonight, disappointed with a few of our players. Aluko and Meyler (in particular) was absolutely abysmal tonight, Aluko for me, always over does it, he should just do the basics and pass the f*cking ball for a start, or run forward when he sees a gap, not run backwards and try to take on the defender again. In terms of Steve Bruce; He put out a side more than capable of winning over the 2 legs, I'm disappointed we didn't start with our strongest squad, of course, but apart from Aluko, the rest of that team played a massive part last season, not only keeping us in the premier league but getting us to a cup final. To many individuals let us down tonight, it's not bruces fault at all. However, Bruce will be much wiser after tonights exit from the Europa League, he'll know that despite giving Aluko so many chances, he remains a bag of ****. We need a goal scoring forward and fast.. So yep, very upset to be out of the cup but at the same time I'm relieved that we can concentrate on the premier league. Lessons learnt and we'll be much wiser in our next Europa league campaign. Look at where we were 14 months ago! We have come a long way and we now have an exciting squad with more signings to come. UTT!
When Aluko first came he used to run more direct and actually shoot Think he might be out of his depth now
Bottom line is I don't think we was ready to take on Europe. This was just a bonus for all of the hard work we did last season, we've played 4 European games, first time in the clubs history. Now it's time to finish in the highest position of the clubs history in the premier league and earn some extra millions.. Interesting to know... If we would have won the competition it would be a 5m return, the difference between a 16th and 14th place in the league is some 6million pound! We netted 67 million pound last season.
This is exactly what I was getting at on the other thread. People need to realise that Europe, currently, is not in the club's best interests. Gaining stability in the Prem is. Of course, it is horrible going out like this, and the sort of reaction to our elimination is absolutely what we and the club should expect, but if you give it a couple of days of thought, it isn't the end of the World.
Which means our squad is not strong enough, to be in all competions, we are weak up front and bruce needs what he's got to be fit! I agree its disapointing, but id rather build a stronger squad with a deep set of quality strikers! ....aluko isnt a striker either neither is ince, which leaves jelavic, sagbo, hernandez to swap in and out! ...the team bruce picked won anyway, he couldnt of fielded the same 11 players for 4 games in just over a week! Are you mad?
Exactly Macca! I was extremely nervous at the start of this season as last seasons performances/success made people want more (yes I know it's normally the case). But during all of the success and positivity we've had over the last 14 months, people seem to forget that we are Hull City. We're not a Man city, Everton, Spurs or Liverpool. We are a team that overachieved last season and now this season is all about stability, of course trying to better our league position and become an established premier league club. STABILITY.
WhI think I misread your post, i do apologise, and I do agree with what you said, lets look forward to the weeks ahead! ....meyler isnt the best player and I think bruce iscrelisingvthis, although I wouldn't change him, he has his moments of brilliance!
From the club's perspective, it's not a priority. From the fan's perspective, it's an adventure that is unlikely to be repeated in any of our lives.
The question is, would you rather we went on a great Europa league run and got relegated? Or finish mid table in the premier league? Of course we may have been able to do both but that hasn't happened. It would have been a strain on the squad and while I am devastated we are out of the Europa league so early, there is a big part of me thinking we now do not have to worry about it. Every cloud I guess, the longer we stay in the PL the greater chance we have of returning to Europe, so lets get behind the team and build on what they've already achieved.
Fair play, it would be magical! But I would honestly rather we stayed in the PL and built for more european adventures in the future. Just have to believe it can happen!
Agree with Bummers but it's a daft question anyway. A bit like "would you rather be Hull City in league 1 or Hull Tigers in the PL."
it's all well and good saying that we don't get much money for winning... but if we win the f**ing thing, we'd progress into the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, then imagine at the talent we could attract!! We would be regarded as a BIG club! we would be up there with Arsenal!
What a crock of ****e. We have as much chance as any of the other clubs in the Prem apart from the usual suspects of getting in the Europa League again next year or the year after. Why are you writing Hull City off.
He we go. It's beginning. Poodles showing their true colours; more shocking pink than black and amber. ****ing embarrasing.
what narrow minded thinking you have. We we're in Europe, now we can attract better players to get back there.
we can get back into Europe. And under SB, I really believe that we can win the Europa league! Then, into UCL!! THE SKY IS THE LIMIT!!!!!!
