I know you're defending Brucey with good reason too but there is no f**ing way this Lokeren two-game week would have affected our chances of survival. If not for the fact that I am convinced we will comfortably stay up, then purely on the basis that by the time we're in May no one ever remembers the points lost in the first month or two. They always blame the last 6 games... This was really disappointing from Bruce. Total disrespect for the club's history making.
Also, why the **** is everyone putting the blame on Brucey? It might have been a weakened side, but it was certainly on paper ****ing good enough to knock out Lokeren.
I agree with Bruce making changes, but I agree that he got some of them wrong. Particularly leaving Huddlestone and Jelavic out. We all seemed to agree that Sagbo is terrible as a lone striker, yet he played anyway. I for one was happy to see Aluko playing in-behind, yet he was unexpectedly shocking, so I wouldn't blame Bruce too much for that one. No-one would've complained if Meyler had played ahead of Livermore with Huddlestone in the midfield, but Meyler and Livermore together? It just didn't work.
I wouldn't say that. Don't get me wrong hes a good player but not in a game like tonght where you need to be in control and win. In games like vs the top teams where you're under the kosh hes a huge asset relieving pressure and helping you get up the pitch but he's never going to win you a game like this. Jelavic should have started.
What I don't get is these are ****ing PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALLERS in their mid twenties, not ****ing brittle bone zimmerframed boy scouts. Are you telling me they can't get through a couple games of football with 3 days in between each of them for just once in their lives? How the **** is it possible that we worry about injuries when these men are meant to be top of the range athletes. I honestly reckon Huddlestone will be pissed to **** he didn't get to start.
Its OK for Fat Head he may well fook off to a team that gets into the Europa League / Champions League in the future . But we supporters CANT do that because HULL CITY will always be the club we support We should now go flat out to win the league cup final IMO.
No we wouldn't, and yes it was. Why is it just accepted that the EL is a lesser competition? When did this become the case? People moan about cups losing their magic but it comes from the fans and managers who are happy to be knocked out!
Come the end of the season, if we manage to scrape in to the top 10 then Bruce's decisions would have been justifed tonight. That team should have been capable of winning the game tonight. Those same players will be kicking themselves because for many of them the Europa League was their only realistic chance of getting in the starting line up. If we get knocked out of the next round of the League Cup at West Brom, some of them won't start a game this side of Christmas. I suspect getting knocked out of the Europa League will mean we won't push the boat out transfer wise because we no longer need a squad big enough to fit in all the group stage matches.
i don't see what's so special about the premier league, we ain't going to win it, we ain't going to finish in the top 4, we ain't going to finish in the top 7.. it pretty much is just making numbers up.. now all the buzz has gone and there's a mouth watering tie away to aston villa...
It wasn't good enough to score the away goal we needed, nor the 3 we would inevitably need tonight as a result of not getting the away one. Both times he picked a piss-poor attack with no goal threat, then responded with subs on 70 minutes. Lessons learnt? If we really couldn't manage 3 games in a week and someone had to be rested then we should have done it in the Stoke game.
oh **** off silly ****... take a look at the leeds scum and what they wouldn't give to be play aston villa away.
I really think people are under playing this.Don't want to sound morose but some people on this very forum probably won't be alive to see the next time city will get an opportunity like this. It's pretty disrespectful. For the sake of a game or two in the PL out of 38. It's not like we have zero points on the board either. I'd love to know what Swansea fans think of it all, wonder if they feel it hampered their survival chances (doesn't seem like it). Wonder how they things a year later, was it worth it etc...
No, no we won't. ^This. We'll probably never qualify through league position and we'll have to wait a LONG time for another cup final (win or lose). That said I'll back Brucie to the hilt as he's by far the most successful manager we've had and most likely will ever have. You win some you lose more that's life as a Hull City fan...
Oh and before certain naysayers comment, i think i can speak for us all, just because bruce is coming under criticism doesn't mean we want him sacked or we've forgotten all the good he's done.. we can still criticise after this shower
It's nothing to do with not been able to play the amount of games he out out a side that was capable of winning the game , it can take a nothing challange look at snodgrass it's just not worth the risk , if anything any blame should go to mcgregor for gifting them a one nil lead .
Before you all go on about how important it was to Hull City supporters, where were all the ****ing supporters tonight then? 18,000 was ****e, and I could have spat at the ****s who started leaving from about the 87th minute.
Agree totally. Completely pissed off. I'll be even more livid if he plays a weak team in the League Cup now No ****ing excuse
