Silly comparison, tbh. Just because one manager starts with a string of relatively poor results then emphatically improves doesn't mean the same is going to happen in every case. The circumstances, and the people involved, are entirely different. This is just a rather panicky Utd fan doing the forum equivalent of crossing his fingers and repeating "everything's going to be alright..." ad infinitum.

He runs away for a bit hoping Tobes can successfully do his battles for him, even Tobes heart isn't really in it so his final resort is to pretend it was all a plan within a plan and hopes he can get the validation he craves from his own. Seeing as some couldn't bring themselves to be honest it was needed. Obviously i was fully aware of his poor start but if i had just put it out there.... What happens? perhaps you should compare van Gaal with Harry. both have loads of experience and have managed big clubs before...
Serious answer for a moment. I think only the pessimists amongst us are "concerned" about our prospects. There are some who I think were so surprised at how well we did last year that they're convinced it was a blip and we can't repeat it. As for writing you lot off, I don't think many believe your continued decline is inevitable (though it is possible), it's just football banter. We haven't had too many opportunities to take the piss since the early 90's, so we're going to fill our boots. Just put your hard hat on and take it- we've had to for quite a while.
Top 5, cool you're allowing us the possibility of winning the league....you're more optimistic than some lol.
So, the general idea of this thread is to say that LVG can finish seventh this season and second next yeah? Next thread please
