was gonna comment on how weak our midfield looks , then i saw the rest of the squad and erm well lost all the energy to bother .

who is going to win the ball in midfield ?

4 - 5 years ago i was fed up of the England XI picking itself , and i was looking forward to certain retirements and fresh blood coming through .

Well we got the retirements . . . . . eventually , but theres nobody coming through that makes me purrrrr

Think I'm going to start watching Ireland, I find them much easier to watch than England probably because of the City players.

Taken from the BBC web site

Roy Hodgson reveals he talked with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger about whether he should include Gunners defender Calum Chambers in his England squad.

I posted about this a couple of days ago, Hodgson isn't picking the squad - he's relying on 5 or 6 top PL managers to indirectly do the job for him.

Never, have I been so underwhelmed by an England squad.

    Pride and bragging rights.

To attract better players to the club.

    To get noticed.

And to injure a few more of our first team?

Gary Monk having a pop at Hogdson as well

"I know he's never been here to the Liberty Stadium to watch them as England manager and he'd have to come and watch us first before he can pick anyone," said Monk

I can't check his statement for accuracy but he's no reason to say this unless it's true.

I hope the Norse and the War Neutrals beat us; just to give Hodgson a well-deserved kick up the arse. I've never wanted England to lose before, but this is just irritatingly mediocre.

Can't we get Yorkshire independence and start out own team? It can't be as bad as the current England one... <whistle>

Just head a disgusting quote from Hodgson.

" It's not about if you're on the first name on the team sheet any more,if there's a player from a big club and he's not playing every week - he has to be considered"

So no Hull City player will be picked for a fair while, until we become a "big club."

I heard Hodgson say in almost these exact words, 'if you are an English player playing for a BIG team then you have a chance to play for England.' He's not interested in what he considers players not playing for what he regards as big teams.

Hodgson is the worst manager we've had since Graham Taylor, can't stand him.

Just been reading this article from BBC Sport, looks like the Norway friendly is going to be the lowest attendance at Wembley since it opened.

    I really love this bit:

Well start rebuilding that trust by sacking Woy, you ****ing pricks.

To be fair to Woy, he's not wrong. If an English player is in a top six club they do have to be considered - they wouldn't be there if they weren't good enough. However, considered doesn't mean picked.

I always thought that the squads circa 96/00 had a good chance as any of winning something . Forwards who could score, World class midfield, just a bit weak in defence. They never really fulfilled that promise though.

I do feel a bit sorry for Woy though as the players available to him aren't exactly world class. Knowing my luck, this group of mediocre players will be forced to work harder, gel, and win the world cup and I'll be forced to eat my words. (I doubt it though).
