A return to the club he was most prolific at would be ideal. It could reinvigorate him and turn him into a real force again.

That being said, I'd only want him back if he were to drop to low base wages and join on a long-term deal.

Reception that he got when we played West Ham was the most hostile that I have ever heard for a returning player.- Cant think that he would even entertain the thought of coming back myself-

Had a poor attitude at the end and too injury prone for me-

It's a no for me. His injuries have robbed him off his pace which was what underpinned his ability, he was never an in the box poacher to begin with so can't see how he would offer much now, particularly given the wages he would want to command. Let someone else take the risk!

He'd never come back though, I'm 100% sure of it.

We became a retirement club med for reasonable players and we should never become an old folks home for ex-players, so in case you didn't get the message my answer is NO!

He got upset when his family were abused by certain sections of our support - which is understandable - there are unfortunately some Neanderthals among us (as with every club).

Agree he was disinterested as he - no WE wound his contract down. We should have bitten Leicester's hands off for £7m.

That said never say never - he had an eye for goal and if he signs and scores I'll be happy.

    Can't see it though.

He also claimed his family had missiles thrown at them at Coventry. Nobody saw it, no complaint was made at the time because he made it up.

He turned down Leicester and instead wound his contract down to pour more cash into his own pockets after City stood by him, all after he injured himself skiing without club permission when he should have been recovering from injury.

His attitude stank at the end and Bristol City doesn't need wrong uns like that anymore.

Well said Red Alert, my sentiments exactly and it brings to mind the old saying "be careful who you piss off on your imaginary way up because you might need them on your way back down". I made up the imaginary way down bit to highlight way he treated us after his not so secret injury.

Was his tribute from City fans v west Ham

The man cheated Bristol City and its fans. At Brighton away he cheated football and the dreams of kids who will never be in his position.

I didn't know any of that.
I thought we didn't let Leicester talk to him - not that he rejected Leicester. He messed up there then because he could be playing in the prem now..... and I don't understand why grinding his contract down with us would be financially beneficial to him - surely Leicester under Sven would have given him more money?

Anyway he's gone and if the rumour is true he WILL be back - either playing for us (unlikely) or for one or our opponents (more likely) - in which he'll get a hot reception!
