True dat, the rate top teams are crashing out I'm glad we're got an all premiership tie. It could be a few rounds in this competition before we get another.
i think last year showed that we dont have to fear anyone. we put some big clubs out and were only done in the final by 2 world class strikes that would have beat any team
Most of these clubs had bigger issues at the time and fielded "weakened" teams, but beating some of these is no mean achievement these days. I get a feeling that Premier League sides outside the top six and bottom six are coming to view a cup run as vital component of a successful season and with this in mind Stoke, like ourselves will be no easy pushover, but we will need a full strength team for this one if we are to progress.
I disagree fella, but to make sure I took a look, Southampton fielded a weakened team but Chelsea and United in both legs fielded teams who's value eclipsed our team, they consisted of regular league starters. Don't buy the bigger issues theory, Our whole club was in disarray to the point that relegation would have had financial implications which could have put our entire future into doubt. In the mean time Southampton were flying high, Chelsea were mounting a title challenge while poor old Man U were realising that they were more beatable and were in need of a rebuild. I think our issues were of a far greater magnitude. Fully agree on needing to put a full strength side out. They will, it's a competition clubs like us should be trying to win so there's no merit at all in sending out weaker side. A good end to the transfer window though could mean we''ve a good enough squad to rotate just a couple.
I stuck one up mate but was captured by the merginator. I posted this. Have to say I agree with Gonads, Stoke are looking good. But if we go for it I can't see them causing us big problems.
