Thought I would make a thread. Apparently we have made a 8-9million bid for him but so have Aston Villa. Not a great player if you judge him by Man Utd or England standards but is still young and if he is a regular starter then I think we could definitely get a lot more out of him. Although I don't see how he could be a regular starter. I personally don't see it making sense. Especially if we have already had a bid of 3.5 million turned down from West Ham for Diame. I think there are plenty of other players I would rather try and sign for that price. But he does have experience at International, European and Premier quality. Man U will sell for £9m too or is this the jounos going on City buying young British & Irish talent?
Can the mods remove this thread please? It's gonna make me nauseous each time I look at the home page and see his name!
How would Cleverly be an improvement on what we currently have? Overrated, overpaid, and hopefully, over there not over here.
He is not as bad as everyone makes out. He is just a downgrade on what Man U have had previously. He is a tidy player overall. Can pass and tackle and has decent movement. At £9m way over priced though. Wherever he goes he needs a new lease of life and I think whoever gets him will have something to work with. Its a shame everyone gets on his back. I guess its popular. Just a shame that he is not Man U standard but he should do ok wherever he ends up - remember his stint at Wigan - he had decent reviews from that period in his career
So IF we sign Cleverley, will this mean he won't get picked for England anymore? We could become the most popular 'second club' in the country! edit - aww balls just seen this.
