I completely agree with Ehab. Also, it's not Hull City A.F.C.'s responsibility to look after tourists. The club will look after the fans in the stadium, but that's it. The local council is responsible to look after a large group of tourists, but Geraghty is ******ed and even more petty than our owner. Their attitude regarding our City of Culture 2017 title is piss-poor.
Considering that one of initiatives that City are working on at the moment, is a fan park outside every game(which will require bar, food and live music licenses), this pop at the council is a rather daft thing to do.
It's not a cost issue, the beer would fund the cost, the problem is it can't be done without the council issuing the relevant bar and food licenses.
Aye, I've said on another thread some sort of welcome would have been nice, but a Lokeren fan also said they did this because the town didn't have the pubs etc to accommodate us. I wasn't there so I don't know how true this is. I'd hope they can find their own entertainment in a city like Hull. And from what I've seen they're doing that just fine.
Which they wouldnt do I suppose? Perhaps they could have simply done something near a bunch of pubs. You have probably been to New Orleans, something like they do there where they serve your beers from a window. That way the original licenses cover what is being purchased.
Cant believe people are still blaming the Allams. Read what Terry ****ing Geraghty said!!!! Arent we supposed to have a council team always looking at enticing visitors to the City.Yet they've done nowt. Surely they realise if we win tonight there will be more foreign visitors coming?? How will we welcome them? Or wont we as "they're coming enny way" attitude.
They would if everyone stopped all this petty point scoring and did what was best for the city. I'm actually surprised that all the pubs on Princes Ave didn't get together and just promote themselves as a fan-zone, just to get everyone over there. There' loads of bars and restaurants to serve everyone and it will be full of City fans down there shortly anyway.
They did a great job! BUT who used them? I used the chip van but I bought my drinks from the bars! That picture was taken when it was busy!
We started off in a restaurant up the road, but six of us went there for a few pints ahead of the game. There were a lot buying drinks in there, but walking to the top of the square to drink them, due to the dj being way too loud.
