Watched a dire double header last night. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and X Men: First Class. ****ing ****e.

A couple of the lads in the office have highly recommended Guardians of the Galaxy. Anyone seen it?

Thanks for the in-depth critique <laugh> It's very highly rated on IMDB and the story looks interesting. Bit of humour thrown in as well?

It's not what you would expect from a Marvel movie if you've seen the Iron Man films and the Avengers ones. Has a very unique soundtrack, doesn't take itself too seriously, quirky humour and has a throwback feel to those older Amblin films and Star Wars too. The script and dialogue are also very sharp and there's a real emotional core that grows as the film progresses and by the end will leave you with a tear in your eye.

Seen a few of the recent X mens. Not really a big fan of X men though or the franchise so i'm more inclined to be negative about them. The series doesn't do that much for me.

The first film was ok and the 2nd quite good but it's all downhill from there.

First was ok, second was the best, third was utter garbage.
First Class was very good, Days of Future past is the second best after X2.

Plus FC and DOFP have Jennifer Lawrence in a skin tight blue body suit........worth one viewing alone.

Whatever gave you that idea <whistle>

In all seriousness though, it never hurts,
I watched the Other Boleyn girl which was a dull affair, purely because it was two hours of Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johanssen in corsets. But I would still say the movie sucked.

I thought the last two X men movies were big improvements on Last Stand.

This thread's been less pervtastic lately, welcome back. Guardians of the Galaxy has Zoe Saldana in.

At least you can see SJ in her new film. In 'Her' all you got was the voice. That has it's own merits of course but they could've done better.
