To be clear - I wasn't saying he was that good . (Incidentally, I seem to recall he is a specialist penalty saver, might have made that up. If that's the case he is a good bench option for that reason.) I was simply saying what he has is experience, which is invaluable as a goalkeeper. And, on top of that, he has a very good temperament to be a back-up 'keeper, because he seems happy to sit on the bench for weeks, but he's focused and sharp when obliged to step in. All I meant was that it is very harsh to suggest he is a dreadful 'keeper, when he clearly is not and, more to the point, served us extremely well at a very difficult time. He just has major shortcomings which mean he will never be a first choice. I think he's better suited to being a second choice 'keeper than Rudd for exactly the reasons highlighted elsewhere - Rudd will be good enough to be a starting goalkeeper and therefore will itch to be the "number 1".
Oh please let this be true. Even if it's just a loan. Bassong desperately needs game time if we're going to get him off the books. PS, I'm not sure it counts as "less competition" when Bassong has made it clear he is not competing for a spot!
Sorry to drag this on but 29 extra games in 10 extra seasons does not count as invaluable experience to me. What is wrong with Rudd pushing for 1st spot? He will keep Ruddy on his toes more than Bunn does and he is now one step nearer that aim as 2nd choice keeper than he would have been as 3rd choice keeper out on loan. Ruddy will see it as competition and Rudd will see it as career progress - win win!!
We are apparently linked with Arsenal CD Miquel, who has just one year left on his contract. Lefty apparently and a permanent rather than loan is touted. Well, with only a year, he is not going to be loaned so that he leaves on a free after it ends.
I would say Olsson, when let off his chain, is better. Not that I have a particular problem with Whittaker - I think he's getting better with every game.
He's not even the best attacking fullback at Norwich. Haha, sorry being a bit devils advocate, saw the opportunity to use a quote similar to John Lennon about Ringo Starr. I don't mind Whittaker as I said, and he isn't some sort of scape goat, I just see that as area we should perhaps strengthen.
Good point - I should probably say Whittaker is the best "right-sided" attacking fullback in the league, IMO. I can't think of one that is better, though some maybe have more potential (Byram). See above - maybe Olsson. Though over their respective times at Norwich, even though Olsson's played a lot more I'd be willing to bet that Whittaker has scored and created more than Olsson. It's just that Olsson is all round significantly better
Just read this article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Miqel-Emile-Heskey-turns-Carlisle-offer.html And thought the headline said "Norwich bid for Ignasi Miqel and Emile Heskey"!!
And in other news some wisecrack has already changed wikipedia! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vadis_Odjidja-Ofoe
£2m for Bassong from Palace? Please, please let it be true! McNally will have pulled off another masterstroke if that comes off. Palace are probably one of the only clubs who'd be interested in him. They need reinforcements and the money hasn't been available until recently.
Lack of transfer funds was what led Pulis to quit So why make it available after the horse (who did a fine job for them last season) has bolted? above excerpt from this report: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...crystal-palace-manager-sky-sources-understand
Club twitter feed says Olsson out of Bournemouth game due to family bereavement. Thoughts are with him. Seems to be going through the mill a bit lately.
This annoying little twerp keeps piping up with gems. Olsson misses the squad for 'family bereavement' reasons on Saturday, apparently, whereas 'unknown' sees it totally differently Edit: if he does go for top $$ then Nathan Ake on a season long loan from Chelsea would be handy
Only thing to say about that Cromer is that it'll be interesting to see is Marcus O plays for Blackburn this weekend. Even then, that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Could just be that these type of things have a bigger impact on Martin.
I'd guess that was family business which he spent a lot of time in Sweden for over preseason. Poor guy not been a good few months. Edit: it's one if his parents, poor guy.
he's talking total s**te cromer. he is genuinely away for a family bereavement. edit. making a habit of missing other posts - sorry bath
Before I thought this tweeter was an amusing fake. Clearly foreign, apparently Dutch, with some sort of axe to grind with Norwich. Bizarre, especially with the £50 offers to anyone who retweets thing. Now it's clear "unknown" is just an utter twat.
