Just a bit of a debate i had earlier, with some folks. If you were trying to get the vote to be in charge of the UK, what would be your policies, and what would be your strategy to win the voters over? I'll start you off with a couple of mine, to see if you agree, please tell us your's. .................................................................................. I would stop all foreign aid, and invest that money into the services of Nhs, Police,Firefighters, Ambulances... The UK spent 11.4 billion pounds in 2013 in aid to places like India, a country with a space programe. I would suspend all costs on any further nuclear weapons, and invest that money on the Armed services, and re-build the ground troops, air and naval powers. I would also stop all the illegal immagrants from recieving benefits, and their million pound houses from tax payers, and all that money would be invested into a scheme for pensioners to recieve more. Also all pensioners would pay no utility bills. All full faced Burka's would be illegal in public. A full investigation as to how companies like Sky have control over sports coverage, when people pay a tv license, and get limited access. This type of thing should be for everyone to view, and not line the pockets of billionaires. Any views.. What's your policy that would get you into power?
Agree with pretty much all the above. I think we should have an immagration policy similar to Australia. If you are a skilled worker and are coming to make a living and a new life then ok. Illegal Immagrints/asylum seekers, no way. We are a tiny island in global terms go somewhere else. Id revamp the prison system, including building many more more basic facilities.. No privileges, no benefits no gym no courses no tv no computer no sports n rec time. You get a mattress a sink and a pisser. You get bread and water and if you behave you get soup and some fruit as a reward. Id revamp the benefits system. I wouldnt have scum and work shy sat in pubs all day spending tax payers money. Id look at a voucher scheme with somome like tesco. Expendable income should be a privilege for people who've worked for it. The church should pay taxes and have no influence on any policy, political, ethical or other. The Royal family would get no handouts. If they want money they can sell some of the estate, art and jewellery collection worth billions. Id maybe hold off till I have a full term in before I go all Cromwell on them.
My strategy would to educate a future Society were Humanity is greater than its the need for politics, religion & creed, race & colour, borders, state, money& wealth, etc etc - though I'd be pissing in the wind
Assuming we were out of Europe. I'd make it the hardest country possible to seek asylum in or to gain access to as an immigrant worker. I would instantly remove the hackney carriage as a method of transport, and categorically state that no person entering the country on a working visa is entitled to drive taxi's for a living, you don't know the country, **** off with your tom tom. I'd ban haulage companies from operating in the middle or inside lane of a motorway, instant lifetime bans would be dished out to anybody who flouts this law. People on 'job seekers' allowance would be forced into working at UK-based manufacturers for free until such a time where they find their own employment. Anybody seen advocating terrorism, on behalf of ISIS or any other radical group would be removed from the country by force, along with all family members, with their assets seized. Payday loan companies and personal injury lawyers would be refused the right to advertise, any PI Lawyers caught at the scene of an accident would have their license removed. IRON FIST ALL THE WAY!
Interesting topic, I think your policy on full faced burkas might be seen as a bit extreme. Maybe you could suggest 2/3 actual policies and 2/3 extreme policies? For my actual policies I would agree with you and stop the foreign aid and invest in our own country. I would also agree with your view on nuclear weapons but rather than investing in armed services I would invest in renewable energy thus my last policy would be a profit cap on the energy corporations, I think it is disgusting that the big six are making billions of profits at our expense. For my extreme policies I would have to say, and this is not that extreme, but we should certainly begin taxing the churches. I read somewhere that this would have a big impact on the deficiate. I would also say we need to scrap the TV licence and fine the BBC for bullying people who do not have a TV licence afterall having access to the BBC should be as much of a choice as it is to have access to Sky or Virgin media!
On a personal note (got a bairn on the way) id change the law around maternity/paternity pay. This is my second bairn and im not goinh to be able to take the second week pat leave as my pay got hammered last time. I think that there are hard workig families who'd love to have more kids but due to finance stick to a couple. Now consider all the benefits street and scum families that half 6 or 7 kids. Now consider that decent people are going to be outnumbered 3 to 1 by scum. Now consider how horrible this country is going to be in the next few decades of nothing changes.
Would make it illegal for anybody to run for parliament or hold a position of power who was a member of any behind closed doors society (mason, jesuit, etc) and ban owt to do with zionism. The rest would sort itself out from there as normal people would have a chance to take charge rather than the select bunch of tits who've pretty much conned everybody into thinking we live in a democracy.
I wouldn't say he burka policy is extreme, i would say, it's about time. I also believe that the armed forces should be made stronger, and less of the nuclear weapons side of it, as they are pretty rundown at present. The church one is an interesting one, but same as the royals, i would tax them highly...Parasites.
This country is ****ed, there are no magic solutions. It would take decade upon decades to undo the the damage done to society. It only takes a couple of Tory terms to create a class divide, but it takes decades to bring it back together, but then Tories are voted back in, they undo all the hard work. So what's the point? Maybe next time we walk into a stupid war on the other side of the world, we shouldn't base our vote on that and instead base our vote on what matters, what happens here in England. I bet every single parent who voted the tories back in, when they finish their 40 hour working week and still have to pop down to the local foot bank to feed their kids are kicking themselves. BUT THE ECONOMY HAS RECOVERED YOU KNOW? REJOICE AT THE TORIES, THEY'VE MANAGED TO GET THE RICH RICHER AND POOR POORER YET AGAIN.
