Ironic given you've put Stones at RB when he's a CB and Sturridge at RW when he's a CF <whistle>

No right backs in the squad.

Sturridge was always written on the right of our front three when Suarez was here.

Chambers played RB for Saints and Jones has to be more of a RB than a CB surely? Although probably equality bad in either position but errors at RB are less costly.

Stones has played more senior games at RB than CB.

    He can play both positions

We will never win a competition as long as Roy is in charge. We will always struggle to qualify with Roy in charge.

Roy is a yes man who sets up his team to give in to media pressure instead of win matches. I agree he must go.

Its more a statement of how bad English Football is at the moment. Apart from Lallana, Barkley, Johnson, Shaw and Walcott who else is there to come in. Striker wise is just depressing apart from Rodriguez cant think of many other English strikers that should be near the national squad.

But most squads are worse than this bar a few stars.

Nobody seems to understand International football in this country.

Super stars in fact often play crap at tournaments.

Winning a world cup is about team spirit, work ethic and team set up.

Yeah, that Germany team that won the WC individually are pants. Neuer, Lahm, Hummels, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Muller, Goetze are lower Prem teams at best.

And don't get me started on the Spain squad that won the WC and 2 Euro's. I mean, who'd take Casillas, Alba, Pique, Busquetes, Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Pedro, a fit and in form Villa & Torres <whistle>

So if Mourinho took over San Marino they would be favourites for the world cup? I am sure they have a great team spirit and work ethic. Mourinho would then given them the tactical knowledge they need to compete.

I didnt say to win it but many countries have mainly average players but do ok. Sure we probably wont win but I dont think we should write them off.

Well no. Though they may still have a good go at it. For starters Mourinho is a club football expert. So many be terrible at internal football because it is a different game. It requires a different approach, a different mind set. A mindset this country doesnt have or even seem to know can exist.

Also, we obviously cannot pick a team of stars so why critisize when we dont. You might as well critisize Roy Hodgson for not walking to the moon.

I cant remember who but I remember a free agent who's last club was Nottingham Forrest in one of the world cup squads. He had a good go at it.

Maxi Rodriguez had a good tournament for Argentina but would most likely struggle in the PL now.

Turkey were awesome at the 2002 World Cup.

I am not saying we should pick a team of stars I am saying the quality of players there is to pick from is poor all round. If Rooney and Sturridge get injured at the same time what other 2 strikers would you pick? Hodgson could have Gemany or Spain squads and still wouldnt be able to get anywhere.

I cant and I never said I could. I also never mentioned winning the cup, just having a good tournament.

Most decent footballing countries have a maximum of three stars, and then mostly average and often a few unknown players.

Wilshire has gone backwards and shouldn't start or maybe not even in the squad.

(shame Ramsey isn't English, far better than Wilshire)
