If he's based it on the 'ginger pirlo' comment then it confirms what a lot of people think about Hodgson. As for Rooney, he is a leader mate, just look at his performances against West Ham, Hull for example where you need somebody to step up to the plate when you're in the s**t. Saying that if Dickhead Woy continues to make Sterling and Sturridge the focal point of the attack, Rooney is on another hiding to nothing, I'd just retire if I was Rooney and that keeps happening. I'd agree with that RAW mate, he's not up to scratch in that department, he's not a yes man either though, he won't just say what people want to hear like Shearer and Gerrard did. I think his work on the pitch will be paramount to this decision, a time for him to thrive on the responsibility and finally step up. Rooney should either spearhead that attack or be bossing the game from CM, which I think would probably work better for him in a way as captain. Playing him as a number 10 off Sturridge then putting Skinny Raheem in to step all over his toes will just end in more failure.
He was great against City and solid against Villa. The squad has been picked off two games this season. If it hasn't been picked off two games then why is Chambers suddenly in the squad, he was performing well at Southampton last season and didn't get picked.
If he has picked the squad of two games then Cattermole should be in. Funny that is he has picked it off two games that Townsend is in, who as of yet has 1 sub appearance to his name. He's picked Chambers because he plays for Arsenal. He's picked Colback because of all the media attention around his move & because of Adrian Durham calling him the ginger Pirlo.
England manager actually stated that Colback picked mainly on his form for Sunderland last season, although it doesn't make the decision any better..
Then for anyone to pick the team on 2 games, not only can The Sun Tanned Zebra get in, so must Cattermole? It's a load **** mate. Woy and his advisers want their head examined IMHO.
If the squad has been picked off 2 games then the entire FA needs to stand down. We all knew several players were going to finish after the World Cup, and if they weren't planning ahead then for me that's gross misconduct. As I said in my original post, I'd suggest he was close anyway, before the move, due to the lack of any real quality holding midfielders, bar Catts. Sadly, he's probably next best after Catts and that is terrifying.
Well if it was picked off the world cup I'm fairly certain Johnson, Baines, Henderson etc wouldn't have had a sniff. He's not going to pick it based on someone's form from 4 months ago is he
That's BS like, the twat doesn't watch us. There was absolutely no indication that he was in Hodgson's plans at all during his time here. I think I remember Don Hutchison mentioning him for a call-up and being shot down. If Hodgson is basing it off his performances last year, then surely he would seen Cattermole as well? Cattermole who has had a fantastic 2014 and a much much better one than Colback
At the end of the day lads, you were more than happy for him to leave and yet 30 minutes after his England call up there is already a three page thread regarding his call up. He's played well for us, any new names called in to the squad will have been selected mainly on their performances this season. As for Cattermole, whether rightly or wrongly he'll never get selected for England due to his previous record regarding red cards etc.
29 backward passes in 2 games man, hahahah. Ginger Pirlo? Ginger ****ing Benny Hill more like. Current Benny Hill, alive Benny was a more progressive footballer.
Given that Hodgson doesn't watch either us or you much, the games he'd have seen would have been the 5-1 defeat at Spurs and the 4-1 defeat at Arsenal. These probably stick in his mind.
