Except for the size of the wage bill... At least through the second half of the season, every team that visited Elland Road had a bigger squad than us. I know this because I remember seeing it in the programme. And I thought it was widely known we had the 2nd highest wage bill in the Championship last season?
I noticed that too marko but think alot of clubs were filled with youth players in their squad list. I think like you the wage bill was high but widely know ????, alot think he was given peanuts I was jsut interested where you got your info from
I heard it somewhere, someone on 606 had the finances information from somewhere or something like that. It was a while a go but it makes sense with all the free transfers we get. Not paying fees = we can pay more in wages.
TC - You must be soooooooooooooooooo desperate to be a WUM, you're actually backing West Ham. What kind of Millwall supporter are you? If I could think of a famous Millwall player I'd say they'd be spinning in their grave!!
Why are there no Wet Spam fans on this forum? I want to mock them for genuinely believing they are going to sign Gradel =\
I strongly doubt we had the 2nd highest wage cost in the Championship last year, it would be logical to think Leicester, QPR and Cardiff had higher wage structures, given Bellamy, Boothroyd, Yakubu, Taarbat, Routledge etc, we had no high earners of note and a smaller squad than the aforementioned. Unless someone has some leaked payroll records we'll not know for sure until this years accounts are released, which is a long way off yet. I'm getting really worried about the direction this pre-season is taking, fingers crossed for some quality additions in the right areas but as things stand we have shown a distinct lack of ambition, and its looking like the loan markets and clamped out has beens. Forget about Smith and Woodgate, sicknotes the pair of them. Bowyer on the other hand!!!
I remember reading that too Marko, think it was either Jonty or Jonny LA,he's a pretty insightful guy-dont know where he gets his info from though.
I recall hearing/reading this too. Something to do with the size of our squad & that sides like Cardiff with Bellamy were having part of the overall wage bill picked up by other clubs.
Maybe we had one of the highest WAGE BILL as we paid out loads for performance related pay e.g getting promoted etc but as mentioned above, I am sure theres a lot of teams that will be paying out a bigger flat wage a week than we did.
========================================================== ..so funny (similar size to us)your confusing west ham with Orient m8.
Millwall your nothing but a very small London club, in all your dream you will never be a MIGHTY LEEDS UNITED, West Ham aren't a big club either, Its silly season at the HAMMERS, they are risking all to get promoted, if it works good on them, if it doesn't there in it up to there necks. When Bates and Grayson get there act together i think you will see WE WILL have a team to compete this year
if WE SELL GRADEL our most improved player last season it will send out the wrong vibes not only to oyur loyal fans but to the team as well no ambition oh how I wish the dictator would do what most fans want GO
Sorry most fan are happy with our dictator, Why, what ever you say about him, this club has improved every year, yes im frustrated with this close season, the fact that the press have already sold Max and Robert. Leeds haven't sold them
It's true, most are. People are calling for Bates' head for selling Snodgrass and Gradel, neither of whom have been sold by anyone other than the papers.
Regardless of Snod & Gradel who I dont think will be sold, I dont know many Leeds fans that are happy with our chairman.
no fan is happy with father smurf i would not go to matches to make him richer----but e know love leeds and will go----pity we shud boycott the ground until e ****s off i hate the bastard
