What's the betting that the shambolic Smalling makes it once again, along with 3-4 other 'big club' players who are not first choice and are not very good

As long as Woy is in charge, i'm afraid thats what we will get. To me England need something different to a Manager at the tail end of their career. Why not try a young manager with new ideas, we can't do any worse than what we are now, can we?

Obviously if Woy was to pick a host of our players then he would be the greatest manager ever...

No, although with Smalling and Carrick injured and Gerrard and Lampard retired there are at least 4 places that should be different from the World Cup squad. Stones, Dier and Caulker are probably more likely to get a defensive pick than Davies though, with Cleverley, Delph and others bound to be ahead of Huddlestone or Livermore.

    ****ing Caulker.

I didn't rate him at all last season and so far, he's looked **** from what I've seen. QPR fans I know aren't impressed either.

But I think he's one of Woy's boys, which counts.

Several vacancies in the heart of midfield. He'll pick Delph, Cleverley and maybe even flaming Noble before he turns to Thudd.

Will he turn to Barry, though?

The fact he plays for Soton means that this is truth accepted.

If only Shane Long were English, he would definitely get a look in now he has joined Roy's local club.

The media chatter seems to suggest Ward-Prowse and Delph will be in - but I didn't mention the former as he's not a CM.

Just checked Delph's age, expecting he'd be about 29/30 now.

He's 24. My memory is poor, but it seems like he's been around for ****ing ages.

I had him mentally pegged as a washed up/unfulfilled potential type on some sort of rejuvenation.

Hard to listen to the crap that is being spouted about this on SSN.

As an example they are mentioning Eric Dier on the back of 2 games in the PL. Who does he play for again? Oh wait that would be Spurs.

As someone said out back 3 pisses all over Man Utd's back 3 which ones will be picked though?<doh>

Surely it is easier to perform well in 2 games in a good team like spurs against West Ham and QPR than for the majority of a season in a team like ours?

That logic doesn't seem to apply, he has good players all around him they could be making him look better than he is, it's too early to judge if he is good enough.
