So I just got back from the Kate Bush gig. Now obviously I'm lucky enough in my line of work to get to go to a lot of gigs. I'm not going to post any 'spoilers' but that really was the most extraordinary, and brilliant show I've ever had the privilege of attending. Anyone going, you're in for a treat. Anyone not, beg, borrow or steal and get to it.
Its the males looking for females this time of year, the old house spiders. Stayed in a big old farm house in Normandy once and it was full of them. One fell from a top floor landing and landed on my shoulder. Scared the crap out of me.
Ha! Reminds me of a time shortly after I met my wife to be when I got a panicky phone call as I was eating my dinner; "you have to come round, there's a locust in the kitchen, hurry!" When I arrived there was a cricket which I persuaded outside. Obviously, being a gentleman, I left first thing the next morning

Then she asked the elephant if it wanted to listen to some James Blunt http://oi40.tinypic.com/nq8cqu.jpg
I would love to go, and will try and get tickets. In the meantime, the Telegraph have very kindly ranked all her 31 singles in order of worst to best, with videos: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/...ush-her-31-UK-singles-from-worst-to-best.html
Do you reckon they may have just been trying to do something to take their minds off the screeching noise..?
Found out something fairly trivial, but I realise it has left a little mark on me, at least for today. Anytime this year, if someone has asked me my age, I've answered 56. Turns out I'm 55 and later this year I will be 56. Being a whole year younger, if only in my head, is quite stimulating. Haven't the foggiest idea how I've managed to get one year out of step.
That's akin to Goon Show humour. Happy Birthday for tomorrow. 30/15 is a significant number. I remember it.
3 Hillbillies are out hunting . One says . "My wife is so stupid , she bought an air conditioning unit " . One asked him " what is stupid about that " He replied " we don't have electricity " . Second one said ." My wife is more stupid , she bought a washing machine " . One asked " what is stupid about that " ? He replied " we don't have plumbing " . Third one said " HA ! my wife is more stupid than your two combined . I went through her hand bag the other day looking for some cash , and I found 6 condoms in there " . The other two said " what is stupid about that ? " He replied " she doesn't even have a cock " ..............
Be prepared to pay BIG Chilco, all the tickets for every show sold out in 15 minutes apparently! I've read that some are going for over £1000 through touts. Getting back to Kate, few Artists (if any) have stimulated me emotionally and intellectually as much as she has throughout my life. Army Dreamers came out not long after a school friend of mine, who joined the army, was killed in Northern Ireland by friendly fire. He was only 17 and that song resonated with me for quite a while after. If ever the epithet, "National Treasure", fitted anyone, it is Kate and surely it can't be long before she becomes a Dame.
