He did very well at Blackpool I will give you that. He ballsed up a decent Palace team though, but ****ed himself silly into the Premiership. You guys won't get promoted I don't think - your too small and hated, you can't attract the players to become a Premiership team. I'm not saying we are any different though. In fact, we are in similar positions - both clubs need to evolve.
Hockaday will get sacked and we will have a decent run of on/off form into a safe 10th/14th position. The team does look better than last few years but there is something crucial missing. That is a decent coach - we have had plenty of them recently and we need another one.
Hollowhead is dyslexic, he thought he was getting an international and but daft **** signed an electrician,
Correct........and you contracted it first match of the season...... you are slowly dying..... Doctor Hockaday and Nurse Junior are trying to save you...but when they are gone, who will want to be near you ????
Funny you should mention 'electrician' again, but I noticed that Bradford City had shirt sponsorship from a company called AutoElectro...... and dyslexia is a condition that should not be made fun of, after all you cannot spell your own name .......FOOL
I might be being overly negative, but I fail to see the improvement on or off the pitch. We have a totally inept coach who is completely out of his depth and a trigger-happy chairman who is signing more and more players of the same average standard as those already at the club. Including loan players our first team squad has 33 players in it! I know it's early days but it just seems like Cellino's magic solution to all setbacks is to just sign more players who don't give us anything more than we had before. We need pace and width, so what do we do? Sign another striker and a central midfielder. We keep the ball marginally better than we did last year but it means nothing because we still lack the penetration in behind. There's no pace, no width, no creativity. All the play is in front of the opposition defence. We finally sign a proven Championship striker in Sharp, then make him feed off scraps because we haven't had the foresight to sign some natural wingers to give him service. We have eleven (11!) central midfielders and not one winger (unless you include White, and I prefer not to...). We have nine strikers at the club for christ's sake. The squad is horrifically balanced and it shows in our play. There's no pace or urgency, no penetration and practically zero goal threat. Four sendings off already this year is ridiculous; clearly the players lack discipline. People may say the team showed 'battling qualities' tonight, but that's just not good enough: even with 10 men, they should've been giving Bradford a decent game. Bradford were as bad a side as I've seen in a while, and somehow that rabble of crap we call a football team contrived to play worse. I know the new players haven't been there long and they need time to settle, but none of them look any better than what we had before. Are Bianchi, Cooper, Doukara and Ajose really better than Tonge, Pearce, Poleon and Hunt? I really don't think so. Hopefully Hockaday will get sacked, a proper coach will come in and the squad will be reshaped. A couple of wide players with pace need to come in (how many times have we had to say that over the past three years?) and then hopefully another 8/9 will leave. Tonight was an absolute disaster: I can only hope it's the wake up call Cellino needs.
I genuinely believe the players we are signing are of a better quality. The one thing I disagree with in your post is the "we need more pace, we need more width" we don't necessarily need those things. If we are adamant on playing that tactic all we need is a coach who can work with those tactics. In fact, I hate the "we need more width, we need more pace" comment all fans are spouting, it's like saying "we need strikers that can score, defenders that can defend". You can play a formation like this: GK: Silvestri RWB: Byram CB: Bellusci CB: Cooper LWB: Taylor DM: Austin CM: Murphy CM: Bianchi RW: Ajose ST: Sharp / Smith LW: Doukara / Morrison / White. Ajose and Doukara can provide plenty of width, so can Byram and I have faith in Taylor. What we are doing wrong is not showing any dedication to the formation that we are playing. Only a new coach can change that. Zola would maybe do okay but him and Cellino ****ing hate each other.
I'm not sure I even know what formation we're trying to play, that's part of the problem. Pace and width are prevalent in almost every successful side in the world nowadays. We have nobody making runs beyond, nobody committing defenders or beating them and getting in behind. Can you have a good side without pace and width? Of course you can, but you need to have players who are both capable and willing to run past players and take risks and gambles. We have none of that. It took us 82 minutes tonight to realise that if we put a ball in the box, we might actually score! Plus it seems ridiculous not to utilise Smith properly, and giving him ammunition from wide areas is the best way to use him. As for the formation, it all looks fine and dandy on paper, but from what I've seen, Ajose and Doukara are always coming inside. Ajose drops deep to look for the ball, and Doukara just seems like a cross between Poleon and White, albeit a slightly better finisher than either of them. They're both strikers being forced to play wide - they will never offer you the same sort of width as a natural wide player will. Murphy and Bianchi never go past anyone, they just keep possession in the centre circle and make sideways 5-yard passes to each other. Austin's distribution is erratic at best. We will continue to have the same old problems, because the players are just not good enough, or creative enough, or dynamic enough. Whatever formation you choose, the players are the same players, and the majority don't look up to it.
I agree with what you are saying. I think a decent coach could change a lot of these things - I usually hate blaming the coach but right now I think we have too. He appears to be clueless. But I still feel that we will be more than safe this season, without a doubt. Anyone who is hoping for a quick fix to this mess is deluded - this is the best position we have, as a club, been in for years. Looking at WACCOE you would think we prefer the misery and would die for GFH/Bates back. This will be fixed, hopefully before I'm 30 (24 now) would love to see is back in the big time but I'm not unrealistic like a lot of our fans.
Fecking coach my bollox, we need a manager, **** this eytie euro crap...we need a Wilko/Graham/Revie..revolultion.
