"You give players an opportunity and you hope they can take it. But they didn't take the opportunity tonight. "Nobody wants to get beat. You want to win every game. We came here - I picked a strong team on paper - with senior players, but they were poor and didn't take the opportunity. "We were short of quality tonight." Then pick a proper ****ing team then and employ coaches who know what they're doing - the players must be as confused as we are as to what the plan is right now - total ****ing nonsense & clueless bollox - you lose 4-0 in a toothless display and claim "we looked like strangers" and then pick, even by his standards the most bizarre starting 11 imaginable short of having SWP in goal.....& them you're surprised it goes pear shaped Clueless clueless clueless & I'm a 40+ year loyal fan who has followed from near and far but barring 5 mins at Wembley this has been the most depressing 18 months I can remember - even including when we were almost out of business. At least we were in League 1 when we lost to Vauxhall Motors Shambolic & in case I hadn't mentioned it - clueless
Why is it clueless to give players, who presumably are champing at the bit to get into the first team, a chance to show what they can do? If that was the purpose of his team selection then it fulfilled its purpose. No?
I think his comments explain a lot. Quite how this is the worst 18 months is beyond me. I've been going for the same and there's been far worse.
So after Saturday you think he needed more evidence - that Dunne is a premier league defender - that faurlin is our most creative midfielder - After 2.5 years of tripe that SWP is non-league standard at best - having said Adel isn't fit he plays him for 90 mins - against league 2 opposition he plays no recognized striker - having decided on 352 as a formation he ditches it when it was an opportunity to get players familiar with it in what was in theory at least a less strenuous environment - confidence building would have been key after the shocking display on Sunday when by his own admission the team were strangers - so clearly the answer to that is to play a completely random selection in a different formation But being the genius he is no doubt he will roll out another different team on Sat back in 352 and expect/hope (rather than drill, coach, train perhaps) they will immediately click That's what clueless......
I think it's a case of not a premier league defender anymore. He was when he was younger. But sadly not now.
I think this was a cheap shot to get Fernandes to part with more money and make a point. Can't coach his way to of ****e - only spend $$ ....
I totally agree and not getting on the band wagon as made 3 comments about the team selection well before the game yesterday and that there was no rhyme or reason to the team. You play a team not put 11 together. Actually I am not going to say anymore about that as it was just total s### and Im now beginning to think something else is wrong similar to two years ago??!!!................. If this is the case then its HRs bad man management and bringing in all these players when most won us promotion. I have wanted Arry out for ages, he is a dinosaur and yes apart from a fantastic day out at Wembley (which Clint Hill was the Manager that won us the game by insisting he came off rather than Hoillet) he has had us playing dreary, dull, gutless football and seems to have the east end barrow boy chip on his shoulder and forgets its about QPR and not him!!!! The good news to me is that overall the squad is good and so TF if we continue to lose without fight and passion let alone flair there is no excuse and he has to be gone asap and god forbid no extension!!!!...................................
And as for Bond and Jordan FFS................................ we should be the best drilled squad in the land with all our coaches...................bin all 3 asap.........
Not sure which strikers we could have played OBZ cannot play a full match Charlie is injured Vargas has no clearance Would YOU risk Remy in this, with Saturday coming...no I wouldn't
I won't be surprised if Remy goes anywhere to get away from our madhouse, he must think it's a nightmare and he can't wake up...
OBZ could have played 60 minutes and got some fluidity to the team. You do need someone to hold the ball up and link play. I would rather have seen Ehmer, Harriman, Petrasso, Doughty et al all playing from the start and then the experienced players could ease them through and at least we would have some excuse.
Are you comparing this to being in administration or even the last time we were in the EPL I understand we all get angry and need to vent but come on.
Why risk OBZ? Couldn't risk Charlie as he has had a knock and they will want him for the weekend and might not be available even then. So, if OBZ played and got crocked then we are left with Remy for the weekend - but he might have gone by then. We still don't know when Vargas will be getting his clearance. We couldn't play without a striker in the PL. I think that Harry has been shrewd. They all knew that they were fighting for their QPR lives and only Taarabt came out ahead of the game, and to be honest he wasn't that much cop either. I think that the others were resigned to their fate. We are still being linked with midfielders and could easily see a couple coming in and SWP, Phillips, Henry and Faulin disappear before Tuesday. Barton might be at risk of losing his place if he doesn't start passing properly and improving his set piece delivery. Guts and determination only go so far.
This isn't aimed at you Canada but Vale makes a good general point. We must all try and keep a perspective on things. When the bad weather sets in, it's damm easy to get lost on the mountain. We're only 2 games in so we do have time on our side. (admittedly not much though.)
I honestly don't understand why Zamora STILL can't play 90 minutes? Whats wrong with him? Surely after pre-season, having recovered now from his hip injury, he can play?
