Arsenal will no doubt put out a complete second string, and to be honest their second string is generally poor. If we go near full strength, I'd like to think we will win.
On paper not a great draw ... however, Arsenal won't field a full strength XI, so maybe we could sneak it. Optimistic maybe.
Full third-round draw: Chelsea v Bolton, Arsenal v Southampton, West Brom v Hull, Crystal Palace v Newcastle, Leyton Orient v Sheffield United, Cardiff v Bournemouth, Sunderland v Stoke, Derby v Reading, Liverpool v Middlesbrough, MK Dons v Bradford, Manchester City v Sheffield Wednesday, Burton Albion v Brighton, Swansea v Everton, Shrewsbury v Norwich, Fulham v Doncaster, Tottenham v Nottingham Forest
We'll win that I reckon. I'm quite confident. Arsenal have European and PL football to concentrate the 1st XI on.
5 all prem ties there, if we can sneak a win against a second string Arsenal could have a nice cup run on our hands
I can't blame him. He's the perrenial underdog. He thrives on that attitude and it makes him successful. He lost, that's the real payback for us.
We'd have gotten Sunderland away. Can't say I'm disappointed that we didn't end up with that fixture.
Would rather have a lower side or anyone at SMS, but not impossible to beat Arsenal if we take it seriously and they don't. That's the great thing about cups...cup upsets. Teams have got through in this round who were massive underdogs...the difference between us and Arsenal is less than some of those.
Didn't notice any comments about Shane Long's dummy miscue, the other night. When I saw it on last night's League Cup Show, the commentator was taken in by it and thought he'd genuinely missed the ball. Does look well done, but the pass is perfectly weighted. Anyone notice that..?
