I can. He'd be earning good money in a league he clearly wants to play in and would suit in a loan situation which would mean a season in the shop window of the premier league. Key to all of this is playing in a team where he is a guaranteed starter in his prefered position (rb). Don't get me wrong, I'd love him at Southampton but we have to be realistic in terms of getting what suits us. Paying over the odds for an expensive loan to provide competition ( ok probably start)at rb or cb is probably not something we need to do. We need a quality addition there, yes, but somethign more long term would be better. permanant/view to buy or not at all for me.
People have boycotted this forum for less . I love the way we all feel like we need to add a just to make everyone understand we're joking. I've never used that emoticon anywhere else ever!
That is exactly what that chap who wrote the FFP article said we did need to do to expand our wage bill past the FFP limit yet stay within the rules. Loans are the best way to do it because we use transfer money to pay wages only and then next season we have a higher starting wage point than the current FFP limit.
Yes, I never use emoticons anywhere else than on here. I hate them. I prefer to rely on being skilled enough to convey your tone of voice with your words. But on here, it seems people don't generally know each other, or how sensitive others are, that is almost impossible to do without pissing someone off!
We *should* be in for him though (with our world class super-dooper scouting team). The reason he's go to Sunderland is that it's a loan and it's an opportunity to put himself in the shop window without having to stay longer than a year. We're only interested in a permanent deal.
Can see no reason for anyone to prefer Sunderland to us. Therefore, he would be mentally deficient and we shouldn't worry about not getting him
Depends, there are plenty of players that are as good as him. It's not like he is the only good player.
Has this move developed any? Where would he fit in to our starting team? Great player, would love us to sign him.
Guan 2.0 on TSW mentioned he's one we're still considering, and we had a few Dutch articles from a few days ago ramping up our interest. Could be an interesting few days I guess!
His agent is touting him to us so presumably he'd accept the move. Just a matter of whether or not we want him or whether or not we're being used as a bargaining tool again!
But if he reckons there will only be 1 more in, should it be Clasie that means no winger, and I think we really need another creative attacking player more than another CM - no matter how talented Clasie is. If it's a winger + Clasie then fantastic!
Who said about only one player? We have been talking to Clasie on and off for a month now and we like Redmond.
Yeah, been after a winger and a defender who can play rb/cb. Been talking to Clasie for ages as well, reason why his move Porto is dragging. Made 2 bids for Redmond and one for Townsend.
This Guan chap, but I take everything he says with a pinch of salt anyway. He's too cryptic for me to find him credible.
