I thought it was a link to us!!! I was just about to rant about always recruiting over 65s after one last big pay day and then the link finally opened. Hopefully not NW as I think he'd do well there and I want as many rivals as possible to be doing crazy things (or 3-4 would be ideal).
Not really Croydon For the record...I cant stand the bloke (and said so at the time) BUt i accepted that he was probably what we needed at the time,. yes he deserves credit for keeping us up, but he is to blame for our failing in the prem. he created a 1 man team that could not cope in the Prem. take out our supposed magician and it left us with a bunch of inadequate support acts that didnt know what to do. Once the Prem had figured adel out (it took all of 5 mins) we had no other strategy and no other way of playing. we were dead in the water. The bloke got us up, but worse than Harry, he had absolutely no idea what to do when we got there. his top player idiot took the piss out of him and the club and we were left with a bunch of league 1 players with no-one to support. Adel 7 COLIN are responsible for a whole lot more than their disciples will ever accept.IMHO Why could neither do it at top level? What happened when AT got found out? What did COLIN do about it? they were good for us 3 years ago, for one year in the NPC..Even Kevin Phillips ha a better ecord than that with reid... Sick of blinkered posts. Lets get it out in the open. adel got us up and then couldnt do it, so we were ****ed....FACT!
After we got promoted NW was denied the chance to buy any players pre season due to the Sale of the club. When TF came in it was like a mad shopping trolley dash. We were still out of the bottom three when he was sacked. I know sentiment had changed as I was at that MK Dons match when the crowd turned on him and I don't disagree with everything you say. However, I feel he did a good job for us overall. Quite while you feel the need to say you are sick of blinkered posts I don't know but I find that insulting.
Firstly Croydon. this was not aimed at you and i appologise if you were indeed offended. It was a general statement..Sorry the point i was trying tomake was, although he kept us up (massive respect) he developed a team with only one tactic. "Give the ball to Adel and let him score". Now he got away with it in the NPC as you would expect, but this was NEVER going to work at the "big table", and as such was a hinderance. We had players that had to pander to that idiot and run thier games around a sub standard player. of course when he couldnt deliver we all went under, and our clown of a manger had not other plans..Plan B didnt exist. read his own book and understand how much of a ****er Adel was but also read that nothing that ever went wrong was ever Colins fault....! money wouldnt have saved him in the transfer market as we could never have played like that and survived..all smoke and mirrors IMHO

Yes, I have read the book and was amazed at how much AT was indulged by NW. At that level it worked so I can understand why he did it and to be fair it was an enjoyable part of our recent history. I agree with you about NWs limitations and am amazed if Palace are indeed about to unveil him as their new manager. I accept your word that your statement wasn't aimed at me. All I was really saying is that I wish him no ill-will given what he did for us overall. You clearly feel differently!
