    ...according to The Times:
Andrew Ayew and Steve Mandanda (goalie, in case we don't get McCarthy) from Marseilles
    Morgan Amalfitano also Marseilles
Alessio Cerci, Torino striker, 13 goals last season
    Mohamed Diame, West Ham (£3.5m)

Roll on end of the window. Probably all bulls**t.

But if we are serious on the Marseilles one, can we please send Barton back to where he wants to be as part of the deal?

Morning, any comment on the transfer speculation, or just on the WUM again?

    Need a second keeper...need a good 15-20 goal a season striker...but that is all
So McCarthy and Ayew, prob yes

Arry just wants Diame (just the same way I want Diame chocolate bars)...so that may happen

    All the rest twaddle

Normally this would be a non starter for work permit reasons, but I think he has Italian citizenship as well as Brazilian.

Don't like the sound of this though:

"Earlier this year, a group led by Giuliano Bertolucci and Kia Joorabchian purchased 50 per cent of Bressan’s economic rights. Gremio retained 20%, while the other 30% is split between Bressan, his representatives and other investors."

Queens, where is Redknapp mentioned in this thread? It's the club which buys players, presumably on his ask, but its a collective decision. Have at go a content by all means, but not just because of the posters name. I said its probably bulls**t because both Redknapp and Fernandes said a couple of weeks ago 2 or 3 more, and I think that was before we got Vargas and Fer.

SB, it's because, just like Flyer you are taking any snippet of speculation and using it as if it were gospel to use against Rednapp. If it were a positive story regarding Rednapp you would probably dismiss it as speculation.

But after your rants yesterday, saying the system doesn't work, some of the players aren't good enough then surely we do need some more players who fit the system and can do a job?

I suggest you don't fall in to the same trap as Flyer did! In the mean time, why not chill out and wait till the transfer window shuts and give it a few weeks for the team to sort itself out, and then see how things are going? Cause at the moment, things are up in the air regarding players, formation and what we'll be eating for breakfast tomorrow. Speculating and having a fit about every little story in every second rate rag is having a detrimental effect on everyone, when quiet frankly there isn't anything to be worried about. If fans continue to react the way you are after 1 bad defeat then football wouldn't exist cause every fan would have topped themselves by now.

Stan, you are far to an intelligent person for me to even try to argue with. Id never comment on a point because of a posters name, just seems that you are one of the main detractors taking any opportunity to have a sly dig. Im not gonna say you are wrong or even try to persuade you. You have your opinions and you are entitled to them.
like i said, its getting a bit adel-esque like and really a bit boring. if you want to continue then "good luck to you mate"; but i will tell you for a fact, i know of at least 4 posters who have left in the past couple of weeks purely because of the "Anti Harry" posts.
Im in no way saying its your fault, but as it was pointed out to me that people left because i posted the truth about Adel. i feel its my duty to do you the same favour.

Like i said, facts are we are promoted (by hook or crook) and we are building what looks like a decent TEAM. If you dont like that then fair enough, BUT , even I had the decency to give ADEL ubtil mid season before i criticised him. Id assume a man of your intellect would do the same. Id go with the 12 game thing even if i dont totally agree.
Of course, you can do & post exactly what you wish, but it really is a shame to "lose" such a great and well informed poster as yourself to some unexplained prejudice that I personally dont understand.
Up to you mate. you do what you wish.
    Good luck <ok>

I think you have me confused with someone else. Just post the links to my 'rants'. I like 3-5-2 and have consistently said so. I have also consistently said that we have good enough players to do fine this season, but noted that I said the same in 2013-13. I have also said that it was not the result, but the performance on Sunday that shocked me, and clearly many other.

See my response to Queens re Redknapp on this thread. Like him, you have the right to interpret what I post however you want, but you may not always be right. I don't like Redknapp, but I love the club so I have no interest in him failing. The dislike is on a personality level, and as I have also consistently said my biggest surprise is that we haven't played attractive football under him, because he achieved that at his previous clubs.

    Keep calm and carry on.

Sorry SB, but all I've seen since Sunday is you moaning about pretty much everything.

Name me a team in the Championship that does play pretty football? It's a tough league and most of the players in it wouldn't make it in the Premiership, that includes a lot of our own players. When you consider the injuries we had last season is it any wonder the football wasn't great, yet we still managed to gain promotion, some who don't like Rednapp such as yourself will say it was by luck, well you make your own luck and I think Rednapp did pretty well all things considered.

If people give the team and Rednapp a chance we'll be fine, but it will take time. The main problem for promoted teams is as I stated above, most of the players in promoted squads just aren't good enough to make the step up. I do feel we only need a couple more players to complete the team, then we should just try our best to cope and see where we stand in January. But name a manager who doesn't want to sign as many players as possible to make the squad as strong as possible. Look at the number of teams who've signed more players, Hull, West Ham etc and they've been up for several years. A managers job is never done, it is always work in progress. My issue is with armchair managers who think their opinions hold more wait than our managers. It doesn't matter who you sign, you never know if it will work or not, add in the inevitable injuries and sometimes the biggest squad can suddenly become very small.

But the worst thing is that people jump all over speculation as if it were fact. If we had signed all the players the papers have linked us with we'd have a squad of 200. Everyone was in agreement that we didn't want overpaid stars looking to retire with us, well we've got the polar opposite, bar Rio, but this means we now have young players who could, with encouragement turn us in to a very good team in a couple of years. But for a team to become great, or even decent enough to survive takes time, patients and above all support. My biggest fear is a lot of fans just aren't willing to give it time, seeing one poor defeat as just a succession of where we left of in the premiership 2 years ago, but it's not, the signings prove that that isn't the case. The one thing that is similar is the continuing over reaction to a poor performance. We weren't great against Hull, but it was probably our best performance since we won the championship with Warnock, it was exciting, fast and pleasing to the eye. Then came Tottenham which was a very poor performance, but you will always get them from any team, especially when half that team are young and new. But if their reaction is the same as our fans and just give up after that loss, then we truly are in trouble.

And to be honest, it really shouldn't matter if you like a managers personality or not, you should back him all the way unless we go in to freefall. The manager is responsible for the team, so if you support the team it comes hand in hand with supporting the manager, anything else is just poor support whether you think so or not.

Sweet merciful crap - how did that OP prove to be so provocative?

Perhaps there's a new group forming to rival the anti/pro Adel, anti/pro Arry divides - the anti/pro SB mobs.

I'll join the pro SBs and respond with a dignified "No you shut up..."

Just to add some gravity to the OP, I'll make the suggestion that instead of buying all these Marseilles players, why don't we just decamp to the South of France, rename ourselves Marseilles Dons and we might have a better chance against United in a few weeks.

    Bizarre thread.

Not anti SB at all, just pointing out that jumping all over an article regarding a rumour as if it were fact, is a little bit silly. All my rants are just trying to make people see it is counter productive to the good of the club to over react to results and speculation.

    Dont bother mate.
A lot of us understand what you are saying but you have to accept it isnt the "party line"...<ok>

Certain posters ca say what they wish and others opinions are put down..even if they are found to be correct.
how many appologies have you seen from adels lovers over the past year..none, because it hurts...

Just hold your breathe and watch harry shove this criticism back down thier throats...then they wont comment again and you';ll prob get a ban for disagreeing.. <ok>

That's no problem TLR - for my part, I tend to pick out some and assume to be true and then the ones that directly rubbish the club are subject to my rants and ridicule. I don't do any of this consciously but it just seems to be the way it happens.

Not that I think SB needs my assistance, but he has said a few times in the last couple of days that he's got a 12 game limit after which he'll make judgement and I haven't noticed anything apart from his usual, slightly cynical, slant on posts.

I'm not saying Harry's perfect, and time might prove that he has got it all wrong. My only point is he's our manager and thus deserves our support. But at least I'm willing to concede the point, I don't see much of that from the anti harry, knee jerk brigade.

    Evening (where you are) Queens.

I'm guessing this is about a bit more than a few guys from the continent being mentioned in the Times...?
