Also, shout out to the woman ahead of me as I walked towards County Hall, for a couple of gems:

"Urgh, Diego Costa would have had an absolute bleedin' field day against that defence tonight"
"We lost 4-0 tonight? I don't believe it"

    Words fail me.

How wonderful to wake up and see another home win under the belt, and another 3 goals! Just need to find somewhere to see them now.

Unlike the previous two seasons, I was not particularly worried about this tie, as it was at home, so I did get a decent night's sleep this time <laugh>

Let's hope for a home draw in the next round <ok>

It wasn't anywhere near as easy as the score line suggests Thia.
Crawley played really well, good fast attacking football with very little route one.
We did strike the post a couple of times in the 2nd half, but for a couple of brilliant saves from Rudd and a questionable chest/arm block on the line in the last min from Josh Murphy could easily have gone to extra time.
Adams deployed the youngsters in numbers last night and most did very well.

So I gather. Crawley manager John Gregory gave that impression, i.e. the better team lost <yikes>
Oh well, let's just keep riding our luck for as long as we need it <ok>

It was a close run thing after they scored. They were on top for most of the second half and had some great chances.

We started playing on the counter and looked a little better although there were times when we seemed to run out of ideas and started to go long and give the ball away almost straight away, which was a little frustrating.

I thought Crawley looked a better side than Ipswich though, by miles.

I don't buy into the the "better team lost" thing as the chances we have were generally better but we missed some sitters and narrowly missed a few very good chances, especially in the first half and beginning of the second. I do not shares other peoples view that Whittaker had a good game, I thought he was a liability and gave the ball away in some terrible areas. I did however think Martin and Loza had a good game.

Anyone have a link to the goals/highlights video, please, as I've tried everything I know of and hit a wall.

I think you're right - it's impossible to say who was the better team without a doubt, other than to say we were better at scoring goals.

I am also not a fan of the whole "oh we only just won with late goals". Are late goals worth less than early goals? If anything, I'd say the opposite - a habit of scoring late goals more likely indicates a patient team, with good fitness, who have outplayed the opposition and caught them at just the right time - when tired minds lose concentration.

I am delighted we seem to be developing a habit of scoring late goals.

Late goals got us to the Prem 3 seasons ago! Certainly not something to be knocked. Where would we be now without those last minute efforts against Reading and Derby!

That was desperately unlucky for a debutant. Brilliant cross though - whoever it hit was likely to scuff it goalwards.

Fantastic finishing from Murphy and (from the little on show) it appeared Becchio was making an effort

Murphy's second was impressive. such little back lift but a lot of power. He really loves the cup. Scored some lovely goals in it so far.

Becchio seemed to be trying to hard when he came on. Needed to calm down and think which he did after a while.

Becchio got a massive cheer when he came on, wish he could of scored! The roof would of come off! ha!

Isn't it really strange how Bassong has just disappeared? Did he ever exist? Maybe it was my imagination.

Bad song has been relegated with Newcastle, Wolves and us. He's prone to a mistake, on big wages and has an attitude problem.

I'm not at all surprised that no one is willing to take a chance on him, even on loan.
