Man united fan in peace (believe it or not)

how do you guys feel about the changes going on at Chelsea atbthe moment? I think bringing in villas boas and di matteo will breath new life into the club.
    With new managers come changes.
Who do you think you will sell and who do you NOT want to see go.
Would you like to keep drogba?
What of lampard? (by the way I don't mind lampard and disagree with these people that say he's getting too old)
    new times for Chelsea.
    Thoughts?

I fully believe it. United fans are by far the easiest to get on with out of the big clubs' fans.

I'm really positive about the new season. It'll be a big ask to win the league straight off but I think AVB is an appointment for the future and di matteo is an inspired choice also. Both guys love attacking football so that's a good start.

Drogba and Lampard should stay but Drogba I think will have to accept maybe a reduced role and more time coming off the bench as an impact player. We can no longer build our team around Lampard and Drogba but no reason why they can't still be effective for us. Both are still very fit players and have a good 2-3 years left at the top in my view.

There are a lot of players that could go; Anelka, Kalou, Ferrera, Bosingwa etc but I wouldn't say I'd want any of them to go but accept we need some more creativity in the first 11 and 1 or 2 will have to make way. I think we really only need 2 quality signings. Sanchez and Sneijder would make a massive difference but both are unlikely.

Falcao looks like a good player but with Torres, are we going to play 442 or stick Nando out wide?? I think Neymar could be very good as well, real prospect. Would he fit into the premier league though??

It's going to be a fascinating next few months at the Bridge that's for sure.

At last a rival team fan willing to talk!

There are a few systems that I think could work for you guys next season.
    Personally....
    Cech
    ? Terry. Luiz. Cole
    Benayoun essien lamps malouda
    Neymar
    Torres

sayin that you have so many options. Ramires kalou drogba.
I agree drog n lamps have got some time left in them but maybe a new cm to build around would
be good. Neymar would be good but I think he'd work too well just behind torres.
You had an off season last year and still wernt far so your definatly our biggest threat next year.
Anelka bosingwa mikel don't belong at Chelsea.

We are willing to talk to anyone that asks sensible questions, this board is littered with simpletons from other teams.

I am in two minds if we should keep Drogba. He still has plenty to offer but the team has been built around him the last few seasons and we need to wean ourselves off our over reliance on him. Lamps should stay but may have to accept less games in the future.

I am as optimistic about the future for as long as I can remember. Should be a really interesting season.

I'd have to say, that as long as Drogba is scoring, then he justifies his place in the team. A new manager coming in is always going to have his own ideas and want to make his stamp on the club. But even at 33, Drogba is still probably the best of his type of player in the whole of Europe.

It is true...it is easier to speak to man united fans.. at least they speak some sense which is more than what i can say for our two north london rivals...

I think that drogba will leave this summer. it was clear to see that torres and himself didnt gel and although i would be in favour of him leaving, it would have to be to a foreign country as i still feel that he may come back to haunt us in the prem!
i would also only let drogba go if we got falcao... he is a great player and someone i feel torres could link up well with.

For me, i would like bosingwa, kalou definitely, mikel and maluda to go. kalou is absolutely hopeless in my opinion and i would be more than happy to see him leave. As for the others.. i just think their time has come to an end.
To bring in this summer i would have falcao, lahm, sanchez, neymar and hazard. We currently severely lack in width and sanchez and neymar would be able to provide us with that. hazard is a young, quality CM which we need as lampard is starting to fade away. He has been our greatest ever midfielder and I will always respect him for what he has done to this club but he is getting on a bit...

Oh and also... appointing villas boas is an incredible piece of work as is bringing in di matteo. Its a bit of fresh air which is what this club needs. I honestly think that this is going to be a good Chelsea era that lies ahead :)

True, ManU fans have nothing to be deluded about, unlike a fair proportion of other big 4 clubs

Utd fans know we have been the only credible challenge to them...& have earned some respect

Still not at their level though - as last season proved once again

People are quick to forget he was top scorer and probably league's best player in the2010 season. Last year he had injuries, the Malaria thing and playing in a team well out of form for large periods of the season.

We have to look to the future and can't build our attack around Drogba anymore but no reason why he can't stay and make a good contribution. I certainly don't see any evidence of his age being a problem yet.

I'm still not ruling out him and Torres together if we got some genuine width in the team and they get a pre season to work on things.

Seems like mostly paper talk and lazy journelism especially since Torres came in. Quotes i've seen indicate that the Drog is still very happy at the Bridge. I'd actually be a little suprised if he was shipped out as he really does offer something completely different to most top class forwards out there.

I guess AVB will be the best judge of that during Pre season

For me 0 he's still got what it takes as he proved late doors last season (just as well given the tripe Torres dished up)

Another United fan here. I think your new manager will need to get rid of some of the old guard, to stamp his own authority in the dressing room.

Tbh either Drogba MUST accept that he has to become an impact player, or get lost.

I really did not like the look of him last season, he was lazy and sulky when we stopped scoring 6 goals a game and he only pulled his socks up once he started getting put on the bench! (think about when he came on as a sub against Spurs)

If Drogba had his way then we would play all our football around the corner flag with him trying to skill opposing defenders and failing, all because of that ONE skill he pulled off in the UEFA cup at Marseille SEVEN years ago...

    Eh?
Anyway, nice to see Cole giving AVB his backing, saying age is just a number :) just wonder how long it will take for the cries of inexperience to start if results don't go your way.

I have to say, that I have always rated Drogba, ever since you first bought him. I remember a lot of Chelsea fans - one of my best mates included - really didn't fancy him at all, and thought that you'd made a mistake buying him, but he always looked quality to me. The only thing I never liked about his game was his tendency to go to ground a little too easily; but he more than made up for that with his goal-scoring record.

Even at 33, I'd have him at Spurs any day. He's easily got another couple of decent seasons in him.

If we did let didier go I wouldn't want it to be to another premier league club as I feel he would come to haunt us!
