Today was good all around. Koeman's first win, a clean sheet, plus first goals for a couple of players including our new striker. The team were strong, positive and kept going while the fullbacks gave us width, Targett doing well on his debut. We looked reasonably solid and when we upped the tempo we moved the ball intricately and incisively, however the biggest concern is that we still don't look like a team with many goals in us.
My take on things if anyone is interested www.thematch.co.uk/thematch-report-millwall-0-2-southampton-saints-see-lions/

I'd best not come on here then, because otherwise I'd tell you that with everyone fit and available, he shouldn't be a starter for Saints.

EDIT: And Graziano We need DTLW back, I can't keep this up, I'm just bored tonight!
Firstly, haven't seen Saints win since vs Crystal Palace 2012 and my first away game, so happy with that The fans were awesome throughout and Millwall fans were very subdued, although I'm not surprised if that is the sort of performance they put out every week. The first half was awful, we had absolutely no cutting edge until Tadic came on, second half was much better, the game opened up after we scored and we were able to show our class. Pelle was getting increasingly frustrated as the game went on (especially after the back heel) - I love that the fans kept chanting his name and got right behind him, he acknowledged each round of chants and what was even better is that the players clearly wanted him to get on the score sheet as the game went on and he always wanted the ball and when he finally did the score the whole team ran over to celebrate together - was a great moment and glad he scored in front of the Saints fans - he even blew us a kiss at the end! . I won't wade into whether Cork should be a starter or not but he was great when he came on, really got stuck in. Onwards and upwards! EDIT - Video above shows how much Pelle appreciated the fans, he really endeared himself to me today.
Evening Saints. Sorry we didn't give you much of a game tonight and I have absolutely no idea why Holloway chose this game to put out such a weakened side. Our goalkeeper aside, the team he fielded tonight was a mixture of our reserves and U21s and you rightly put them to the sword - was surprised it took you so long to score tbh. Shane Long looked a class act - good luck for the season
Ta much. FWIW, I think Holloway, like him or not, always makes a difference to any side he manages. Good luck for the season, and look after our old ex-Saint Richard Chaplow.
Cork per game has been more reliable for Saints than Wanyama but Big Vic has the potential to be the consistent and outstanding performer with an uninterrupted run in the side. Where he's strong away but weak at home, Cork is strong regardless. I reckon this'll change.
Agreed. Cork was better last year but he didn't have an injury and wasn't new to the team. Now that Wanyama's settled in, he's the better player, but Cork's still a very good player.
Stoked to see Pelle open his account. Have only seen brief highlights but he looked bloody strong, cant wait to see him really put his laces through one. For me its a question of how long it takes him to find his feet rather than is he any good. Hopefully this is the start. Be excited to see him find form.
