The story of the night is MANU losing 4-0 to the Mighty MK DONS!!...................... Did we win?.............
Musty, think they are all still queuing to get in!!! Shambles with getting in tonight hence the 10 min kick off delay plus commentators were saying they were still coming in 15mins after kick off. Whoever was responsible for the new ticketing system needs to hang there head in shame!!!
No problem for me getting in tonight so the system works well . I haven't read any recent posts so I will first before commenting further ,other the to say Bartley could calm and mom for me with Jazz a close second .
Sheehan is a youngster, but looked out of his depth and to light weight for me. Carroll looked neat and tidy, but again a little light. Jazz and Tiendali did well. Fernandez read the game very well and very comfortable on the ball, but probably had to try and head the ball more in one game over here than he did in all his time in Italy as Rotherham used the long throw constantly. From what i saw tonight we still need a holding midfield player.
wba win 7-6 on penos after oxford were down to 10 men 13 Myhill 14 Davidson 23 McAuley 25 Dawson 02 Wisdom 05 Yacob 18 Berahino 04 Baird (Gamboa - 105' ) 11 Brunt (Morrison - 64' ) 29 Sessegnon (Mulumbu - 78' ) 09 Ideye
25 Tremmel 27 Bartley 29 Richards 33 Fernández 19 Tiendalli 14 Carroll Booked 30 Sheehan (Sigurdsson - 59' ) 20 Montero 56 Fulton (Shelvey - 45' ) 12 Dyer 18 Gomis (Bony - 74' ) Substitutes 01 Fabianski 02 Amat 03 Taylor 04 Ki Sung-yueng 08 Shelvey 10 Bony 23 Sigurdsson Tremmell didn't have great deal to do and why he did he did competently .as was noticed on Saturady with Fab a bit low clearing the ball with the striker bearing down but no real pressure . Tiendalli more than happy with his display , not so much as an attacking threat with Dyer in front but defended well against taller opposition Jazz against better opposition he may have had to be less attack minded but did the two roles well , linked up well with Montero . Fedendez shaky start but grew more confident as the game went on , covered well when we were caught napping on a couple of occasions Bartley MOM for me , marshalled and controlled the defence well , made a tackle with the striker just lining up to shoot v Tremmel and wallop took the ball of his toes with a perfect tackle . He seemed to enjoy the his chance and took it well . Montero ,quick likes to run to the by line and in the second half linked up del with Jazz , delivered some dangerous balls into the box which we failed to capitalise on , never stopped working and tracking back Dyer , had better 1st half than second but took a hell of a blow to the back of his head which must have effected him and came back into the game toward the latter stages . he seems to be less keen to go forward at times but when he did he and Tiendalli played some lovely interplay between them . Sheehan , worked hard but not enough guile and experience yet which is to be expected but showed glimpses of why the Club think highly of him . Carrol , a great work ethic , chasing down and not rushing the play which at times was the wrong option but with a bit more game time he could become an asset . Gomis , slow start but like a few others improved a the game progressed , some neat touches and looking to pass and with the odd exception found the man , not as willing to hold the ball up aka Bony as e was isolated at times but kept going and with a well taken goal deserved the applause when taken off for Bony . We did enough to win the game more comfortably than the score line suggests so a good evenings entertainment and a chance to see what other options we have available . Good to see Shelvey come on as imo it's game time he needs to get his head right , not a good start but became more like his old self as the game became more stretched and the we had a more controlling influence on the pace of the game .
just in & here's my take Tremmel - Nothing much to do, distribution better than Fab but won't be first choice Tiendalli - played well in defence and attack, very good at getting between his player and the ball Fernandez - comfortable, played some excellent passes and made tackles, linked well with players around him Bartley - won everything on the ground, confident, a couple of superbly timed tackles Jazz - my MoM, excellent in attack and defence, covered everyone, blocked, challenged (picky negative - Fernadez and Bartley don't get much height when challenging for high balls) Dyer - covered every blade and played a captain's game. Sheehan - a few good touches but needs more experience Carroll - like going back in time to when Joe was making his name. Very impressive, looked for space, wanted the ball, played neat passes, no afraid to get stuck in, seemed to have been given the thumbs up to roam across the midfield. Still need a DM IMO. Fulton - decent passing when he had time but like Sheehan needs more experience below fist team level. Montero - tried a lot some came off a some didn't A good few excellent runs and can take the ball to the byline, cut inside and go past players. Got taken down with monotonous regularity. Gomis - looking good, worked hard for the team and took his goal really well. Shelvey - a little tidier than Saturday but still loose with short and medium passes, had more freedom against so-so opposition. Siggy -added a bit of physicality and quality, decent. Bony - was Bony, added excellent heading Bility in defence but did miss a couple of sitters. It was like a training game for the most part but, again, we defended deep after the break - not to the extent of Satuday though. Did enough without getting out of second gear. Rotherham were a typical Evans side, bulky, their bit of skill was lost to throwing the ball into the area and hoping for the best. Nice to see Fabian Brandy it he didn't get on to the field.
Tiendalli is an enigma to me, one day brilliant next day rubbish, would he be better placed elsewhere? good reports from both of you and thanks
