At least Van Gaal was a good sport signing autographs for everyone after the match - noted the same willing attitude after their Swansea opening day home loss. An alternative view of this from Steve Claridge:- please log in to view this image "If that is the attitude he (Louis van Gaal) came into the game with, that is the performance he deserved. If I was the manager I would be waiting to get at the players, not signing autographs. That is exactly why you get the performance he did. "The players need to learn and learn very quickly. They were beaten in every facet of this football game. MK Dons were better for effort, will to win, skill, enthusiasm, everything." Perhaps they (and us) need a Warnock style rollicking! Why does Leicester and Burnley losing in the Capital One Cup constitute a "fantastic evening" for you?
IMO it's shows folly to play a weak team We need to get some team spirit We need a strong performance and not some pretentious idiot thinking too much ... We need a system in place and a winning mentality as our performance in recent cups has been shocking and how could any team ask their supporters to attend if they don't try to win every game of football
Because it means neither of you have won so far this season- and with both your coming fixtures that trend is set to continue. The more dispirited your teams are the better chance we stand of staying up
Yes, the simple comment Harry should make to the team is ................. Pretend this is your very last game of football, make the most of it! We'd probably win 20-0 alike.
Absolutely this. Although if VG had played, say RVP, and that ugly tackle in the first half had broken his leg.....? It is a tough call but that is why they are paid large sums - to get it right on the night.
Wishful thinking there, love. I can tell you now that last night's game with have absolutely zero impact on our confidence/future performances. A home point against Everton was a good one, and we have been commended/praised by many for our performance away at Chelsea. Confidence is still high... You should be worrying about your own spirit and confidence
Your team is playing well but let's see how the season pans out before commenting too much ................ things have a way of leveling out and any outlandish comments made at an early stage tend to leave oneself with a bad case of 'foot & mouth' disease. Could I suggest you pre-book a doctors appointment for next year and make it a long consultation.
What "outlandish" comments have I made? All I'm saying is, to suggest that our second string losing in the Capital One Cup will have a detrimental effect on our morale/confidence is ludicrous, and wishful thinking at best.
Oo "love" eh, fruity. Last time we were in the PL and we lost at home to Reading in the cup, it kicked off a poor spell of form. Losing games is a habit- as is not scoring goals. I was delighted to see Nugent draw a blank yet again. He scored 10 from open play in a 46 game championship, and can't score against shrewsbury. That doesn't translate very well into a 38 game PL
