Sunderland have had a £9m offer accepted for Wickham. Will they spend a chunk of this on Mr Bullard? Wishful thinking?

Just got back from my holiday with no access to the internet expecting to see lots of activity to catch up on. Jesus its grim atm soon we will be discussing whether the toilet paper in the KC changing room is 1 or 2 ply.

Indeed two ply is wishful thinking with the financial management not being able to stretch that far

If you were in football management with £9m to send - would you spend the tiniest portion of it on Bullard? Really?

Exactly this article was posted by someone last week when it was obvious he was on his way, it won't make any difference to us, they're no longer interested in Jimmy.

He burnt his bridges with them when he was rumoured to be interested in a move to Norwich, the fans won't want him back. They do have money to spend however, and i think they've brought some players in already so they could be a force to be reckoned with this season. Will be a tough first away game for us.

So after all this talk about Wickham being the next England centre forward - and with a possible move to Spurs or Liverpool - he ends up at Sunderland, who have sold their best two players in the last 7 months.

When Bruce gets a better offer in a couple of years time he'll piss off, leaving Wickham out of favour (as he isn't that good really) and then the club will then loan him to a Championship team. Decent young player, but very over-hyped.

As for Bullard, he will not be going to Ipswich <ok>

Oh dear, oh dear, the old green mist of envy !

Liverpool offered £11m for Wickham and they aren't daft ! At 18 years old the boy has tremendous promise, will sign a 5 year contract and end up a Sunderland legend in the Kevin Phillips mould. £9m rising to £13m is a steal!

He will be added to other recent aquisitions like Larsson (free), Dong-won (£2m), Gardner(£5m), Westwood (free) and Elmohamady (£2.5m)

N'zogbia, O'shea, Brown, Gibbson and N'gog could also be on the way - life at the Stadium of Light is interesting to say the least.

    Larsson - decent freebie
    Gardner - good midfielder
Westwood - you now have 3 keepers...
    Dong-won - who?
Elmohamady - I can't believe you actually bought him
    N'gog - <laugh>
Brown - it gets worse, way past it, played about 3 games last season

Wickham might be good in a few years time, but last season he could barely make the Ipswich team. Doesn't score that many goals, temprement of a child and not exactly sharp.

What a steal at £13m - that green mist of envy is hanging over my head

(by the way, you mention that Liverpool aren't daft - so sensible and philosophical, they paid £55m for Carroll and Henderson)

£9m is a hell of a punt on a kid with a Championship goal scoring rate of 1 in 5, he might come good, he might not, but £9m is ridiculous money for him.

Still, his goal scoring record is way better than N'Gog's 1 in 8. :emoticon-0120-doh:

sunderland and liverpool seem to be in competition to see who can waste the most cash..sunderland dark horses for relegation, and ipswich dark horses for promotion . good manager and a good goalscorer is a good combination ..

Daryl Murphy went to Celtic for 50p and has managed to score three goals against the likes of Motherwell and Dundee United, I noticed on a Celtic site they described his Dundee goal as being a 'Lionel Messi like goal'.<laugh>

Wickham deal has now been confirmed, it's £8m rising to £12m with add-onn's. Mad money.

And it looks like Millwall have replaced Morison with Darius Henderson.
