no to selling Pearce and I would be amazed if Ellands team is right as Hock can't afford anything but his best team out wed.
Afternoon all, sorry theres been no match thread as yet. I've been ill past 48 hours. Might be over it now, hopefully. If I'm still alright in the morning I'll get one up then
Good afternoon all - Imagine us going to any premier league team and offering them a reasonable amount for their captain, this is the scenario with Sheff U is that the calibre of player Pearce really is that we can sell him to a team in a lower division. I say keep him, if his past is anything to go by Bellusci will miss a lot of games through suspensions and we only have Wootton as back up. Hockaday obviously felt at the start of the season that Pearce would be a permanent fixture in the team, hence why he made him captain, truth is I don't see any other captain material in the squad and if Pearce is not first choice then it does make it a tricky one. What is it though with Leeds and their captains, they are not even lasting a season now before we think of selling them. At least Pearce has experience in this division, again you only have to look at players like Wootton and Zakilukas who made a good first impression then fell away drastically. Norris, Tonge, Hunt, Morison, White and even Austin or Murphy need to go or be sold long before Pearce.
I find it hard to believe that out of these signings we've made not one of them are considered captain material. The team is crying out for leadership qualities, and yet no one has it. Pearce and Murphy were captains at their previous clubs, but don't come across as particularly inspiring. Bellusci has been a captain in the past but will probably be suspended most of the time so no point in giving him the armband. Antenucci would be an option, but is he good enough to command a starting place? No one currently on the books really inspires
If our captains don't last long and attract offers from other teams, perhaps we can make hunt and Norris joint captain?
Not half as ill as 11 blokes in white were on Saturday Dammed. Trut you N the team are feeling better now.
To be fair mate - out of all your new signings, none of them are Championship material let alone captain
I bet that Cellino has got a captain for his boat much more important than worrying about his pub side
Apparantly, we have made an 850k offer for Niall McGinn. Aberdeen winger. He's 27, got an eye for goal scoring 33 goals in 74 appearances
McGinn ... been linked with him for 2 years now, he turned down a move to Leeds on deadline day Jan 2013 saying he was "not interested" and chose to stay at Aberdeen ... he can fcuk right off
Sharp turned down Leeds on at least two occasions, though I'm thinking it could have been three times.
