Good point mate, its down to the size of Rodgers Brass balls now...
He can't pander to Gerrards needs if he is deemed a possible weakness, it'll be a sign of his (Rodgers) own weakness if he doesn't have the balls to drop (rest) Gerrard at the right time.

fair assessment, i was more talking from the previous 2 seasons, i think we have lossed out on what he offers in the final 3rd, not so much now sadly, and going forward your line up is the one to take.

its always for me going to be one of them could he have made a dif in the final 3rd,and also he wouldn't have been in the position to slip against Chelsea ( yeah i know that could happen to anyone), but i was thinking more everyone knows what a lethal shot he has, so we could have had them on the back foot further up the pitch.

whatever happens i hope he goes out on a high as he of all people deserves it.

on a side note, lampard has just retired from int football, is that him going to the states like defoe? or just better younger players in englands mid now?

It's a good job they are thinking about stricter concussion tests. As you are going to need one if you keep banging your head against the brick wall that goes by the name of dave! <laugh>

I know you're having a bit of a laugh and generally I like what you post - but lay off coming on the Liverpool board and having digs at one of our own, Dave has his own style on here and he's allowed that style, if you don't like it, there's an easy way to avoid it <ok>

Here is what he actually typed:

"Does his kid look like Pancake?" Now these words form a direct reference to a player's offspring. They have no other direct reference.

When you play a top city like a city or Chelsea you cannot carry fellas. We prob carried two yesterday at times

That's fine for run of the milk sides like Everton and utd but going to spurs I'm thinking we need to wake up and see the truth that at best Gerrard is a last 20 min player now

Sorry folks but bob paisley had a saying about aging players. So if Gerrard drops out now and we can strengthen great cos sure as hell come December well need a couple of outings from him and he'll be more able and then come April and such he should still contribute even if off the bench

But it's time guys.... Our problems are in midfield

You really are boring as well as being more than a little thick. I point out to you that the literal sense of your posts was tasteless. It matters not what you thought you had typed the words you typed have only one unqualified meaning. Could you accept that - oh no. As usual it is you who becomes abusive whilst you continue to ignore your mistake.

    What mistake? <laugh>

I've not made any mistake, I made a post that you've mis-interpreted and have no idea of the meaning behind it - which you still can't admit.

Oh and btw before you mount that high horse regarding abuse, in your opening comment in this thread you called me a c**t.

So players being played that we bet won't be starter in that position come end of year?

Johnson......not ranting about that one again. Its obvious.

Skertl ....C'Mon, we didn't buy for a combined £35M (that's more than our two strikers)two aggressive, left and right footed CB's who's instinct is to move up only to keep playing a CB who's instinct is to run at his goal keeper every time the opposition attacks did we?

Gerrard; the decline has been inevitable, his quality has allowed him to resist it over and over. My bets are he stays in as long as we more or less win, because he played such a part in "almost" last year. But if we go on a losing streak with the same pattern of CB's constantly exposed due to FB's and DM ill discipline? Then phased out. But who knows with two CB's who can move as one and two FB's who actually care and are injury free? He may get the cover he needs for another year or so.....
