According to Balotelli's agent, he picked Liverpool so Gerrard could 'protect him' - lose Stevie, all hell breaks loose!
they can go feed him suger lumps and carrots. He can stay having a laugh at melwood but he can't be brought to the stalls at anfield and be expected to run a race. I'm sure gerrard's really protected a lot of guys in his time... well he has the contacts with some good scary guys to protect your house alright
Phil Collins is a bit of a fortune teller though. He predicted that Gerrard's heir and successor at Liverpool would be Sus.. Sus.. Suso-dio!
Theres.... 5 days left and 40-50mil in the bank and january too. If lucas goes as he should theres a perfect excuse to buy
I've said exactly that for the last 2 or 3 seasons and he's come back to make me look a goon, by invariably scoring against us and have (another ffs) an Indian summer. So this year I'm saying jack ****.
Not official. Plus you never get 100% back from sales. Rodgers may be able to reinvest what he sells- but for every £10m you sell a player there is maybe £2.5m in taxes, legal fees, agent fees, other costs that have to come out. I'd be surprised if we made another big buy, now or January. I'd be surprised if we have as much left as people think.
any chance of a breakdown i thought we was down to about £20 mill not taking potential sales into ac like borini, ass etc. we have lucas, agger, ass, borini, coates, toure etc who could add funds, just where did the £40 to £50 mill come from?
Aren't Coates and Toure linked with loan deals? Borini and Ass want to go as loan deals too, don't want to be sold. Lucas to Napoli was a loan deal too I think. That's only Agger, who if he goes, is more likely to be a sale than a loan. We're having difficulty selling this summer.
So what did it say exactly old stager? As I'm certain you've not read it correctly, and do not have a clue what I meant. A fact borne out by your refusal to clarify.
Ah, the double over head reverse negative... So by hoping/believing our leader is past it and not saying so, you hope he goes down hill, whilst still playing, ergo, taking the team with him... Must admit, as much as I love Gerrard for what he's done and on occasion still does for us.. I too said last year that he should be phased out, but he played a blinder from Jan onwards.. However, this year, I think that phasing out will commence, for his good and ours.. nobody wants to see one of their hero's go on too long that they end up making a tit of themselves!
i agree, but i think we should play him up top more and bring him off after 60 mins or so, for whoever. i don't and have never agreed with this bollocks of him being more defensive to prolong his career, as that's not what he is all about.
I watched that happen with an Everton legend from our great 80's side - Kevin Ratcliffe. Kev didn't age well and ended his career in the fullback slot and he started to take dogs abuse as he was largely awful, but it wasn't him who was putting his name on the team sheet every week.
Gerrard should have made way for Can, not Allen who was having quite a good game. Gerrard's distribution was fine and he played some key passes, but after 60mins he was anonymous.
We could play him at the "tip" of the Diamond, but his lack of mobility will be shown up there too.. The amount of energy Sterling brings when playing that role, helping out midfield, getting forward to help in attack and then harassing the oppositions midfield when they have the ball will be lost with Gerrard playing there.. I can't see him moving forward, the likes of Sterling and Ford are ahead of him, Lallana was bought to play in the Diamond formation too.. Going forward I'd like to see a front six of... ---------------------- Can --------------------- ----------- Hendo ---------- Lallana/Ford ----------- Sterling/John Malkovic---------- --- Sturrdige -------------- Balotelli/Sterling-- Will still give us decent options from the bench.. Lots of Power, Pace and YOUTH in that front six.. Just my humble opinion..
