What really galls me, is that, in the morning, the media (and particularly those twats on TalkShite) will be crowing about how brilliant £ity were, and not a word will be mentioned about how utterly ****e 'Pool were. Disgraceful.
I'm in the strange position of hoping Liverpool score. And they do. I'm in the strange position of hoping someone hands me $10,000,000.
Already the injuries are mounting up for the Reds. Looks like their season has imploded in the second week.
Disgraceful dive by Can, which Oliver recognises and yet decides to ignore it. That's absolutely ****. Totally bottled it because it would've resulted in a red. There's no excuse for such inconsistent refereeing.
And yet someone did hand me $10,000,000. Strange. I'm in the strange position of hoping all the world's problems resolve themselves and everyone lives happily ever after.
Don't worry, they'll be handicapped by having Balotelli up front. Plus, Lamela, Eriksen and Dier are going to rip their defence a new one. It'll be the easiest 3 points we'll earn, this season. Trust me.
Sums it up, doesn't it? He booked Costa last week but bottled sending the Liverpool player off, just like Clattenburg with Suarez last season against City. He also had a howler giving a freekick to Skrtel when he ran into Dzeko who was screening the ball for Jovetic. He missed anyway but there was absolutely no justification for giving Skrtel a foul and it could have been an important moment. Commentators weren't much better either, they seemed determined to talk Liverpool up as dominating when it really wasn't the case but by the time the third went in they'd resigned to giving City some credit too. Credit to Liverpool though, they go the goal back that keeps us top of the league. Although really I guess we should be thanking Zabaleta.
The last time someone said those words to me it involved open crotch boxer shorts, a bucket of eels, thign high rubber waiding boots, a lacey bra, a bottle of scotch and a web cam....followed by a trip to casualty ... so I now trust no one
Utd are at Burnley next which is tricky and Everton, Leicester, Arsenal Chelsea meet each other's opponents from last week which makes me think the fixtures are fiddled, too much of a coincidence that. Arsenal meet City and if we can beat Sunderland we havea good chance of staying top. Arsenal v City? Good draw.
I think I opted for a Utd win in the prediction thread but I wouldn't be surprised if Burnley take the 3 points. Utd just look so weak at the back and Danny Ings is due his first Premier League goal. Amazed that despite spending a shed load of money so far plus the impending arrival of Di Maria for £60m, Utd have failed to replace two of the best CB's the Premier League has seen, think it's bizarre. I'm sure LVG will end up bringing in a couple of defenders before the window shuts but surely it should've been a priority to begin with?
They hadn't been the best Centre Halves for quite a while though - esp Ferdinand, as QPR can testify. He was done when Bale ran past him so easily at our historic win at OT. Fergie should have sorted this in his time and they still haven't it is amazing. Unless Jones and Smalling really step up this year.
Oh yeah don't get me wrong both were past their best for a while but when paired together still looked half decent. Jones and Smalling so far haven't lived up to the early hype and potential, at the moment both are looking like Sunderland's future CB pairing (no disrespect to Sunderland intended there btw). In the formation LVG wants to play, I'd have thought CB's would've been the first priority to sort out.
Dawson's having his balls felt by Hull's team doctor and it looks like we are paying Sevilla today for Fazio. I like Pocket's philosophy of building the defence first. Still like Destra.
