The HDM transfer stuff is just a capture of any article with our name in and usually bollocks. Phil Buckingham will be back off his honeymoon soon and we'll get some better insight then.
Be nice to see this one finally over the line. Oh, and just as a precaution, though I'm not sure if it's actually true, I would like to say - **** off Newcastle. Thanks.
You are correct he was doing just fine . Was let down by a sloppy pass in a no win situation if he did tackle he's off if he didn't they score ! Can't win !
Not really, earlier than that Chessie also nearly blundered when Diouf was behind him.. was a bit shaky on sunday
He didn't, Diouf had him by the arm and dragged him to the floor. Chezzy was in 100% control and was seeing to dealing with the danger.
Also the header clashing with davies, bit indecisive i thought. Dawsons an upgrade whatever happened on sunday
Dawson and Chester are very different defenders in my eyes and the squad needs both. Chester is a lot calmer and more controlled on the ball and can step out with it, where as Dawson seems a little bit more old fashioned and more getting stuck in than Chester is. I like Dawson but its hard to compare two very different centre backs with two very different styles. Personally i wouldn't play Dawson and Davies together in a back two but either side of Chester and i think it would work.
Header clashing was entirely down to Davies. That was Chesters area and he had it covered until Davies charged in and tried to take over.
I suspect SB's intention will be to play Dawson in the centre of a 3 with Chester on his right and Davies on his left, as his regular first choice when all 3 are available and assuming they're in form.
I actually think in time Chester might play a defensive mid field roll, he played that against Lokeren away for part of the match and he did OK.
Hope not, he's surely better as a ball playing centre half to bring the ball or distribute out of defence. McShane, Bruce, Davies and Dawson are all pretty average in their distribution at best, as we saw on Sunday from McShane and Davies. The only time I thought that tactic of playing a centre-half as a defensive midfielder worked to an extent was away at West Ham, as Bruce allowed Huddlestone more freedom to get forward, and provided a screen against their lumped balls forward, at least until we suffered the sending off.
A defensive system including Elmo, Robertson, Chester, Davies, Dawson, Rosenior, Mcshane is surely good enough for the PL.
Would be nice to get one of these ****ing deals over the line. Wasn't he supposed to be having his medical today or don't footballers do bank holidays?
Rumours are spreading thick and fast that Newcastle have made a late offer for Dawson. I would think he would move there if they have.
