Hey guys, thought I would start an article on here as part on my plan to try and be active on NOT606! Anyway the point of this is that there are rumours that we are to sign a number of players on 1st July (friday). So I thought I would nick BRB's idea of predictions! So the general idea is to pick the players that you think might sign on Friday out of... Andy Frampton Danny Kedwell Charlie Lee Chris Whelpdale Ross Flintley Matt Fish Jason Brown Jordan Hibbert Stan Aborah Darren Byfield +any other players we have been linked to
I think Fish will join from Dover and apparently he is pretty good so i'm not too fussed about that, Kedwell Of course, I would love to think lee and whelpdale are signed up and with us rearranging friendlies just for them i'm going to take a punt and say we've signed them, I don't think either of the keepers on there should or will be signed as brown will be too expensive and i just can't see how flintley will be good enough after seeing another great keeper from conference football play at gillz (cronin). There will be one keeper coming in though definitely.. I've also heard strong rumours that hibbert impressed hess last time round but he just couldn't fit him on the wage bill so that's a possibility. I don't know whether he's a wide man or not though? We need someone with pace and i don't know who, maybe ashley carew from ebbsfleet?
Good call on Ashley Carew would give us some much needed width. Jordan is a central midefielder if i remember correctly all I do know that if you watch the chelski skills school on youtube he's on that! I heard the most amazing of rumors the other day that we were to sign Roy Carroll on a short deal. Not holding out too much hope for that one! I forgot to add Jake Cole to that list, think he might be the keeper next year.

Frampton is a quality player and hard worker was liked at Millwall and was player of the year a while back, good signing for you lot. you can expect 100% from him.

I would very much like to see Frampton join with Fish and obviously Kedwell. I'm not sure who would agree but i would be more than happy to see Byfield back at preistfield. Up the Gills!
I would say try and sign them all apart from Flintley, Aborah and Byfield. That'll show the rest of league 2 we still mean business...
resign McCammon (i think he can still do a job for us) and dickson. McCammon Dicks Kedwell what a front 3 that would be.
I have a Signed picture of McCammon that i kiss every night before i go to bed. Would be good if we can get him back on cheaper wages.......
Must say I heard this Carroll rumour myself. Didn't believe it for one second but if other have heard it too... On the Ashley Carew note, another one who didn't make it through the youth system making a return?
Well at least carew would be on a free as he hasn't signed his contract with the fleet and we release a lot of promising player like tom wynter for example so it doesnt necessarily mean he was rubbish. Also it says on wikipedia that Carrol was on trial at sheffield united february this year but was released due to such poor performances and also was at barnet looking into a player-coach role later on this year, if he was willing to go to barnet then i think he'd be more then willing to come to the gills! Maybe this rumour could have some substance, i'd like another simon royce type keeper at the club to be honest!
This Roy Carroll rumor is really looking quite exciting! If that Barnet link is true than we really have a shout of signing him!
After commenting earlier I looked at Roy Carroll on Wikipedia to see where he's been the last couple of years. Aparently been a free agent since Feb' this year so I'm guessing his trial at Barnet did not go too well?! Although at 33, rather a good age? And as Harrygillz said would be nice to have another Royce come to the club.
Think this Roy Carroll transfer may hit one massive stumbling block...wage. He must still want a pretty high wage you would assume?
Very much agree gfclukey, but if he was willing to be at Barnet he musn't want too much? SURELY we're at least a bigger club than them if no-one else!
