I've just re-mortgaged my house and bet it all on spurs winning the league at 40-1. I'm taking the bookies to the cleaners.
That's profound. I've heard a rumor the FA have decided to break with precedent and divide the 2014-2015 year into two seasons, and that the first, ending after two games, will determine the league champion and CL places, while the second will amount to a 36 game exhibitions season. You may be skeptical, but it wouldn't be the craziest or most inexplicable decision the FA has ever made. Also, I have a question which someone may know the answer to immediately, but if not, it may take some research. Have Spurs ever topped the PL before, either while there were no games going on or for any moment while games were going on?
Liverpool must be ****ting themselves as the pattern of our league results indicates they are on for an 8 goal drubbing at the weekend. I'm looking forward to pay back for last year.
If you like good but trivial numbers, Dier is the first defender in PL history to score in his first two starts (says the Guardian, I think.)
If Athletico Madrid can topple the mighty Real and Barca in La Liga on a fraction of their budgets, why can't Spurs with a good work ethic, considerable talent and good organisation emulate them? I think the organisation that Poch brings with him will be important and I can't see you guys getting turned over as easily this season as in previous ones when faced with City and Chelsea, and it is time to turn the tables on your lovely North London neighbours for a change.
Cheers, Ides. I hope the way you were able to sell players at over the odds works out for you. You certainly looked reasonably strong your first game.
With all due respect, I think the long-awaited North London Power-Shift (which I may have made reference to in previous seasons) is a given, this season. Indeed, I don't think many of us are giving it much thought, tbh, since we have far bigger fish to fry (ie. winning the Prem and the Europa).
If the owners at Citeh weren't so tight, they could buy a few more players and really threaten our title stroll.
Yes, if the season ended now, £ity would win the Prem with their massive alphabetical advantage. That's the FA for you.
Not actually true, but Ricky Lambert's just put us back on our own on top, instead of sharing the position with City. Very nice of him.
